Chapter 885

Jackson had only one thing on his mind: if ra didn''te back, Dn would probably end up starving himself into the ER. As much as Jackson loved a front- row seat to the drama, he knew he had to intervene before things went from bad

    to tragic.

He grabbed his phone and texted a friend, asking for ra''s location. The reply came fast: ra was with Kaitlyn.

Jackson perked up, giving Nichs a quick pat on the shoulder. "You head home. I''m going to talk to ra-try to figure out what''s really going on."

He was just about to head out when footsteps echoed from the stairs. Dn wasing down, looking pale as paper, but there was a stubborn determination in his eyes. After a couple of weak coughs, he made for the front door.

Jackson hurried after him. "Seriously? You''re barely standing. Where do you think you''re going?"

Dn''s lips tightened, shes low over his eyes. "To find ra.”

"Now you want to look for her? She left in the middle of the night. What were you doing then?" Jackson couldn''t help thinking-how does a guy this into ra not chase after her right away? Was his brain always this slow on the uptake?

Dn didn''t say a word, just pushed forward.

Jackson sighed and followed. Nichs hesitated a second, then decided to tag along too, but by the time he made it outside, the car was already gone.

Neither of them even thought to wait for him? Nichs was already irritated that ra had blocked him, and now his frustration was bubbling over.

In the car, Jackson told the driver to head straight to the address he''d gotten. Dn stared out the window, dressed in a crisp new suit, but he looked stiff and miserable, probably from being so sick.

Jackson studied him for a second. "Did you get hurt or something? You look like you''ve lost half your blood."

Dn just closed his eyes, silent.

When they pulled up in front of the coffee shop, Jackson got out first, meaning to open Dn''s door. But Dn made no move to get out. He just sat there, watching the shifting shadows inside through the ss.

Jackson rapped on the window. "You''re just going to sit here? It''s only a fight. You look like hell, but if ra cares about you at all, she''s not going to just let you suffer. She''s got feelings for you, whether she admits it or not. Just give it a minute-she''lle around."

Dn clenched his fist and pressed it to his lips, coughing hard.

Jackson rolled his eyes. This guy was impossible. Fine, he''d handle it himself.

Inside, ra was talking business with Kaitlyn about investing in her studio. She finally had a bit of money to her name-it was time find something to do Plus, with h?t schedule clear, she could help Ryan out from time to time.  s

Kaitlyn tapped a few photos spread out on the table, a satisfied look in her eyes. These are the new artists! just signed. Not as talented as Elfor Seth, but those two are always off the grid Remember when asked you to call them? They never showed. Hope nothing happened to them."

    s

"They''ll be fine," ra replied, her tone cool and calm. Those two were full of secrets and could handle themselves. There was more going on behind the scenes, she was sure of it.

Kaitlyn went over her ns and held up five fingers. "We go fifty-fifty, both on the investment and the profits."

ra shook her head. She couldn''t take advantage-this was Kaitlyn''s studio, her hard work. "Kaitlyn, let''s do thirty-seventy. I just want to earn a little, not take half."

Kaitlyn raised an eyebrow, but smiled, recognizing ra''s stubborn streak. "Alright, thirty-seventy it is. So, once-"

Before she could finish, a handnded on her shoulder and a man''s voice cut in.

    "Small world, huh?"

Kaitlyn''s face dropped. Jackson had been driving her crazy these past few days. Everyone in the studio already suspected there was something going on between them, and she dreaded the day the gossip would get out of hand.

But Jackson didn''t care at all—he just slid right into the seat next to her. No matter how awkward she felt, Kaitlyn couldn''t let it show in front of ra.

Jackson propped his head up, grinning at ra, but there was something a little intimidating behind his smile. "So, ra, you and Dn had a fight? Don''t you two stif have your marriage certificate? You know what they say-couples fight at the dinner table but always make up in bed."  s<fn04d1> Checktest chapters at find?novel</fn04d1>

If he hadn''t mentioned it, ra would''ve forgotten she and Dn were still legally married.

She took a deep breath, her voice icy. "Thanks for the reminder. I''ll go talk to

Dnter. It''s about time we got divorced anyway."
