Chapter 1358

    ?Chapter 1358:

“I told him I didn’t like my old job, and he offered me a new one,” Jessica exined. “When I said I had nowhere to stay, he gave me his big bedroom and made sure everything was set up perfectly.”

    Rnd went quiet.

Jessica added, “Do you think someone who’d give up their own room and change the sheets for me could be bad?”

“Well…” Rnd faltered, caught off guard. Truthfully, he wouldn’t have been that thoughtful himself.

“He’s a good guy. If you don’t trust me, ask Freya,” Jessica said, bringing up a familiar name. “She knows him well.”

“Freya Briggs from the Briggs Group?” Rnd asked.

    “Yep,” Jessica confirmed.

    “She knows him?”

    “They’re close friends,” Jessica said.

“Then send me your address. I’ll visit next weekend,” Rnd replied. He trusted Freya’s circle, but this was his daughter, and he needed to be sure.

“If you show up, my cover story will fall apart,” Jessica said, sensing her dad’s stubborn streak. “Give me a month, and I’ll introduce you to him.”

“Live your life, sweetheart. I’ll handle your dad,” Lena’s voice came through, giving Jessica a sense of freedom. “Best of luck, honey.”

“Thanks, Mom!” Jessica said, her heart lighter.

Lena added, “And block your dad’s number.”

“Isn’t that a bit extreme?” Jessica asked.

“Unblock him in a month. Call me if you need anything,” Lena said.

    “Okay, deal!” Jessica agreed.

    Rnd sounded puzzled.

“Didn’t you just say that was extreme? Now it’s just ‘okay’?”

“Sorry, Dad. If you need me, talk to Mom,” Jessica said, feeling a bit more at ease. “When you were dating Mom, you wanted your space too, right? I’ve got to go. Bye.”

With that, Jessica ended the call.

Following Lena’s advice, she blocked Rnd’s number without hesitation.<fnff3d> Discover more novels at Find~Novel</fnff3d>

For now, her happiness came first, and her dad would have to wait.

“Jessica, dinner’s ready!” Melvin called from the kitchen.

She set her phone to charge and stepped out.

The sight of a table filled with delicious dishes made her mouth water.

It seemed there was nothing Melvin couldn’t handle.

Jessica picked at her food while sneaking nces at Melvin, who always looked so cool and detached.

    “Melvin.”

    “What’s up?”

“Is there anyone you’re interested in?”

    “Nope.”
