?Chapter 1273:
“All set,” Greta smiled as she tightened thest strap and gave him a wink.
“Time to hit the road.”
Jesse gave a little nod.
After handing off his backpack and suitcase, he climbed onto the bike behind her, his small hands gripping her jacket.
Greta pressed a discreet button, and the seat adjusted slightly—safer, sturdier, snugger for the boy. The modifications had been fully cleared by local authorities, of course.
With everything checked, Greta kicked the engine to life. The bike rumbled beneath them, steady and powerful, and then they were off—rolling down the drive at a safe but breezy pace.
Jesse’s grin stretched ear to ear, his eyes alive with wonder. Wind in his hair, the world rushing past—it was freedom. It was adventure.
And it reminded him of how Freya used to ride a motorcycle too.
He’d once begged her to take him for a spin, but in the end, they had been yanked back home by his overly serious father and forced to endure one of his legendary lectures.
Freya never got back on a motorcycle after that day, and Jesse hadn’t seen one since either.
Jesse often wondered why his mom always followed his dad’s lead, especially when his dad treated her more like a child. It baffled him how she put up with his bold attitude.
When Greta and Jesse reached her warm, sprawling home, he turned to her with the very question.
“Take a guess,” Greta said with a yful grin, gently lifting his helmet off his head.
Jesse thought hard, scratching his head. “Maybe my dad’s got some secret that makes my mom listen?” he guessed.
Gretaughed, her smile bright as she took his hand. “It’s simpler than that. It’s like a ssic love story—one leads, the other follows because they want to.”
Jesse nodded, piecing it together. “I think I get it.”

“That’s your parents,” Greta said, her voice soft and kind. “Your mom lets your dad take charge because it makes her happy.”
In her memory, Freya had always been strong, making her own choices as a young girl.
She was the one whoforted others, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand.
But when she dated Ellis, she started to lean on him. She even learned to act a little spoiled, something new for her.
Greta sometimes thought Mina might have lost a bit of herself if she’d married someone else.
But Ellis was different. He was the one man they all trustedpletely. No matter what happened, he’d always stand by Freya’s side.
Jesse hesitated, then asked quietly, “Does my dad love my mom a lot?”
Greta’s eyes softened. “What he feels for her is more than love. She’s his everything, the only one who matters that much.”<fn160b> This update is avable on find(?)ovel</fn160b>
