“I will!” Nina answered with a bright smile.
They spoke quietly. So quietly that Farrah and n didn’t really hear them.
“Hi, Mr. Briggs!” the assistant director called out when he saw n. He stood up quickly to greet him. “What brings you here?” Others turned around too, surprised to see him.
Luckily, the ones who were in the middle of filming stayed focused and kept going.
n didn’t want to disturb the shoot, so he only said a few words before turning to watch the boy who was still acting.
But people noticed where his eyes hadnded. Right then, many started wondering. Was that boy somehow rted to n? Maybe a nephew?
Or, was he n’s son?
“Cut!” The director’s voice rang out, bringing the scene to a halt.
As soon as the boy was lowered to the ground, Nina took off like a shot, darting between the crew until she slipped behind them and out of sight.
The second the wires were unhooked and the boy headed off for a break, Nina reappeared beside him, smiling brightly as if they’d known each other forever. She fell into step with him without missing a beat.
“Was it fun flying around like that?” she asked, her voice light and sweet. Nina had a way of making people feel like she’d always been there. Her soft, cheerful tone was hard to resist.
n blinked, caught off guard.
Farrah looked just as confused.
Neither of them expected it.
n leaned toward Jesse. “Does she know that boy?”
“No, she’s only seen him once from far away,” Jesse said tly. Watching Nina walk off with the boy, Jesse didn’t sound too thrilled. “She came all the way here just to talk to him.”
n raised a brow, still trying to make sense of it.
Freya had never acted like this when she was little. And Ellis? Even less so. So how did they end up with a kid this… easygoing?

“Mr. Briggs.” The head director came over to greet n, then followed his gaze toward the two children. “Just visiting the set?”
n paused, then replied as if it were no big deal. “Yeah.”
The director nodded toward Nina. “And she?”
“My niece,” n said, still watching her. “Hugh Briggs’s granddaughter.” That caught the attention of a few people nearby. You could see the surprise on their faces.
Meanwhile, Nina had already moved on to her next question, chatting easily with the boy. “I saw the ropes pull you way up earlier. Did that hurt at all?”
“No, it didn’t,” the boy said, shaking his head.
“Do you have more scenester?”
“No, I’m finished.”
“Then do you want toe over to my house? We have tons of fun toys and lots of yummy food,” Nina said warmly.
