?Chapter 1224:
Being watched 24/7 was starting to wear her down. And more than that, Ellis hadn’t even let Greta visit.
Ellis’s usually calm heart skipped a beat. His voice softened. “You feeling alright?”
“I’m fine. I just want some space.” She knew it might sting a little, but she needed to help Greta. “Would you mind giving me some alone time?”
He hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Okay.”
He walked her over to the garden, set out some snacks and drinks for her, and then quietly left.
The moment he was out of sight, Freya gave two short coughs.
Greta popped out of the bushes like she’d been hiding in a spy movie. She grabbed a grape off the table and asked, “How’d you get him to leave?”
“I told him I wanted to be alone.” Greta froze mid-bite.
The grape slipped from her fingers.
If Ellis found out Freya said that just to sneak in a meeting, she was toast. “You were looking for me, right?” Freya remembered the signal Greta had left.
“What’s going on?”
“I’m leaving the country soon,” Greta said quickly, scanning the area like Ellis might reappear any second. “Noel ke’s been tailing me. I need your help to cover my tracks.” Freya hesitated. “I’ll try.” Greta blinked. Just try?
“Aren’t you one of the best hackers?”
“I haven’t had muchputer timetely. Ellis won’t let me near one. I’ve only used aputer like four times in the past four months. And one of those was because n begged me.”
If it hadn’t been n, she probably wouldn’t have gotten that chance either.
Even Melvin had been turned away when he came asking for help.
“I didn’t know Ellis was that controlling,” Greta muttered.
“When are you leaving? I’ll work something out.”

“Alright.”
Greta blinked again, surprised by how quickly Freya agreed.
“I’ll try to talk him into it. If he says no, I’ll fake being mad and lock myself in my room.” Freya waspletely serious.
Greta didn’t know what to say. She was about to suggest dropping the whole thing.
Even a fake fight between Freya and Ellis felt like pushing it.
But before she could say a word, Ellis’s voice floated over from behind them—calm,zy, andced with quiet danger. “Freya, you’re getting bold.”
Freya froze on the spot. So did Greta.
Then Greta did what she did best—she ran. “I’m out!” No way she was sticking around. Ellis would absolutely punish her.
“Hey, stop climbing the fence.” Ellis strolled over to Freya, gaze fixed on the figure halfway up the fence.
Greta was already halfway over but still managed to toss a casual, “Good to see you.”
