?Chapter 1182:
As she listened, Melinda’s face tightened, her worry deepening.
Stomach problems and hardly any sleep…
“I keep trying to get him to see someone—to talk to a professional,” Lawrence went on, his voice lower now. “But he keeps turning me down.”
“Is this because of Freya?” Isaac asked quietly, his expression unreadable but alert.
Lawrence gave a small nod, quiet but certain.
Isaac and Melinda exchanged a look, both holding back emotions they didn’t dare voice. Ever since Freya had walked away for good, they knew Kristian wouldn’t bounce back easily. But what they hadn’t expected was for his health to fall apart this badly.
“Thanks for letting us know,” Isaac said gently, choosing not to press further. “There’s actually something I could do to help him get better right away.” Lawrence’s face was full of concern—he truly wanted to help Kristian. “But if I bring it up, he’ll turn it down instantly.”
Isaac asked, “What is it?”
“Erase every memory he has of Freya,” Lawrence said without thinking twice. “Without those memories, he could live normally again. He wouldn’t keep drowning like this.”
“Don’t!” Melinda said firmly, not even needing a moment to think.
“Why not?” Lawrence asked, confused.
“Those memories are part of who he is,” Melinda replied. “If he met someone new and fell in love without those memories, and they somehow returnedter, it wouldn’t be fair to that girl.” And more than that, even though they had ended things, his time with Freya was still the most precious thing he had. No one had the right to take that away, not even them.
Lawrence opened his mouth to speak, but in the end, he stayed silent. After lunch, Isaac and Melinda headed to Kristian’s house. When they arrived, he greeted them just as usual. “What brings you two here?” he asked.
“We saw yourtest medical report,” Isaac said seriously, careful not to mention Lawrence. “The report talked about stomach problems and insomnia. What’s going on with you?” Kristian blinked, confused. There had been a medical report about him, but he’d asked Gerard to hand them a fake one instead.
Isaac didn’t hold back. “Did you really think we wouldn’t figure it out? That getting Gerard to pass us a fake report would fool us?”

He added, “Did you forget your aunt knows the doctors at that hospital?”
“I just didn’t want to worry you,” Kristian replied quickly, trying toe up with a believable excuse. “I know my own body. It’s not as bad as the report made it seem.”
Isaac shot him a sharp nce. “Not yet. But what happens next time we see you and it’s turned into stomach cancer?”
Kristian froze. The words hit hard. He said nothing.
Were they all trying to speak bad things into his life?
“Kristian, why don’t youe back and stay at our ce?” Melinda’s voice was gentle, her face full of worry. “I hate seeing you like this.”
