Chapter 1163

    ?Chapter 1163:

After all, when he’d bumped into Freya abroad, n had definitely been with her.

“Are you disappointed right now?” Freya asked out of nowhere.

She might not be able to match Ellis’s effortless presence, but she wasn’t standing still either. If she had to lose on the outside, she’d at least win where it mattered.

What she failed to notice, though, was Ellis had very specifically mentioned the 12th. If she hadn’t been so thrown off, she might’ve realized he had a proposal of his own in mind.

Ellis felt the tension ease a little and brushed the thought aside. “Disappointed about what?”

“That I didn’t n a proposal for you,” Freya muttered, sounding oddly conflicted.

Ellis gave her a gentle tap on the head, his voice rich with affection. “Silly.”

Even someone as sharp as Ellis slipped for just a second.

Feelings were the one thing that always got to him. When Freya said n and his girlfriend had split forplicated reasons, his mind filled in the nks with something painful—and that alone made him lower his guard.

“Give me your finger,” Freya said, choosing to stick with the act.

Ellis raised a brow. “What for?”

“To measure your ring size,” Freya said, dead serious. “Custom rings and proposal.”

Ellis’s lips curled into a dazzling smile, and a spark lit his eyes. He handed her his finger without hesitation, letting her measure it.

Freya’s palms were damp with nervous sweat. This was her first real lie to Ellis—and she’d actually pulled it off.

“For the next two months, you’re not allowed to keep watching me like a hawk,” Freya added, then tacked on, “And even if you figure out what I’m up to, you have to pretend you don’t know.”

    “Alright,” Ellis said without hesitation.

Either way, once his own proposal seeded the day after tomorrow, she wouldn’t have to lift a finger. Might as well let her have her fun.

    “One more thing,” Freya added.

    “Yeah?” Ellis replied.

“You’re not allowed to n a proposal during this time either,” Freya said again.

    “So many rules?” Ellis teased.

    “Yes.”

“Do I even get a say in this?”

    “No.”

“Alright.” Ellis gave in with a smile. He’d already made all the arrangements. All that was left was to ask the question.

Until the moment she got back to her room that night, her heart wouldn’t stop pounding—every little slip-up felt like it might blow the whole thing wide open. Once Ellis was tucked into his own room, he fired off onest test to n.

    “Good luck with your proposal.”

He believed her. But belief didn’t mean he wouldn’t test.
