Chapter 1150:
She tried to reason through it. If Ellis had a private talk with Farrah, it had to be about a proposal or wedding ns. After all, Farrah was one of her closest friends.
Freya was certain she wasn’t pregnant, so there was no chance it was about parenting advice. Besides, something like that wouldn’t need to be kept secret. Farrah gave Ellis a look, leaving the exnation up to him.
“You’ll know soon enough,” Ellis replied, getting to his feet and messing up Freya’s hair in a yful way.
Freya continued to puzzle over it.
Try as she might, she could not piece together what they were hiding. Ellis slipped his hand into hers, his voice low and unhurried. “Go get ready. After lunch, we’ll go look at rings.”
“You go ahead. Farrah and I have a few things to discuss.” Freya pulled her hand away, speaking with a breezy tone. “Don’t wait for me at lunch.”
“What about picking out ringster?”
“There’s no hurry. We can do it some other day.”
Ellis did not argue, letting her have her way.
If she wanted to investigate, so be it. He trusted Farrah not to give anything away.
Leaving the two women alone, Ellis made his way out. In the hallway, he nearly bumped into Felipe.
He shot Felipe a brief, indifferent nce before moving on. There was no nod, no conversation—just two people passing by, nothing more.
Felipe watched Ellis disappear down the hallway. Once the coast was clear, he took out his phone and typed, “I just learned something you’re not going to like.”
Kristian replied right away, “What is it?”
Felipe began to type out everything he had overheard, but after getting it all down, he stared at the message. The news felt too heavy to send in a text. Finally, he erased it.
He had only dropped by to visit Farrah and Isabe, but instead found himself overhearing Ellis talk about proposing to Freya. He considered lingering in the hallway to catch more, but the moment Freya appeared, he slipped away to avoid running into her.
He barely had time to regroup before running straight into Ellis.

Meanwhile, when Kristian didn’t get a reply, he sent another message—just a question mark this time.
He knew Felipe’s ns for the day, so he kept his phone close, waiting for any word.
Given everything that had already happened between him and Freya, he braced himself. What could possibly be worse? Minutes passed, and Felipe still hadn’t answered.
Kristian set his phone aside and tried to get back to work, but his thoughts kept drifting back to Freya. Without a message from Felipe, his mind wandered, and he couldn’t focus.
That was when Gerard walked in and immediately picked up on his mood. There was no need for words. Anyone could tell Kristian’s mood was all about Freya.
Gerard stepped up with an update. “There’s a project scheduled in Alerith on the 12th. Do you want me to handle the cancetion for you?”
