?Chapter 1139:
What in the world was going on? Who was actually proposing to whom?
The moment Greta answered, she instantly knew what he was about to ask. She didn’t even wait for him to say a word. “Before you say anything, make sure no one’s listening. We can’t let Freya’s secret get out.”
“What in the world is going on now?” Frederick asked directly, ncing around to make sure the others were upied. “Wasn’t Freya the one supposed to propose to Ellis on the 12th? Why does it look like it’s the other way around now?”
“Just think of it as them both popping the question to each other,” Greta replied, summing it up in the simplest way possible.
Frederick was still utterly perplexed. Both proposing? What kind of situation was that?
“Only you, Riley, and I know the whole story. Trent and the rest arepletely clueless,” Greta added, well aware that Frederick could be a little scatterbrained at times. “So don’t let anything slip.”
It took Frederick quite a while to sort it all out in his head.
He hadn’t even read Ellis’s proposal n properly yet, and that left him uneasy about the finer details. “So, who’s going first?”
“ording to the n, Freya will give Ellis the flowers first,” Greta said, though she wasn’t sure whether Ellis would catch on ahead of time. “After she proposes, Ellis will follow up with his own proposal at the spot he’s picked.”
“And he doesn’t know any of this?”
“Nope.”
“What if her proposal works? What happens to his n then?” They couldn’t exactly propose twice in a row, could they?
One proposal right after the other? It sounded awkward.
“That probably won’t happen,” Greta said, guessing aloud. “Ellis is sharp. Even if no one says a word, he’ll probably pick up on Freya’s n sooner orter.”
Freya’s n was to have them deliver flowers to Ellis first. Then she’d make her appearance in a bear mascot costume, holding a bouquet to hand over to him. Next, a drone would swoop in to deliver the ring. Finally, beneath a dazzling drone disy and a burst of fireworks, Freya would propose to Ellis. With Ellis’s sharp instincts, he’d likely catch on the moment he saw Ethan and Alyssa show up.
“Doesn’t matter if Ellis figures it out or not,” Greta said with a shrug, clearly amused by the whole thing. “If she manages to propose first, he can just pull out his ring and slip it on her finger after.”

Hearing that, Frederick felt a little more reassured.
Deep down, he was still hoping Ellis would be the one to propose first.
To him, that would prove just how much Ellis truly loved Freya. He wanted Freya to have that happiness—undeniable andplete.
Frederick ended the call and got back to carrying out the n.
Meanwhile, Freya had set the date and gone off to find Alyssa and Ethan.
When the two of them heard that she nned to propose to Ellis, they both stood there stunned, pletely caught off guard. Ethan, especially, looked like he’d misheard her entirely. “You’re serious about proposing to Ellis? And not the other way around?”
