Chapter 1110:
“Alright, go get some rest,” Freya said, making it clear the conversation was over. “I’m calling it a night.”
n gave a small nod and left her suite after they exchanged goodnights.
But once he was back in his own suite, his thoughts kept circling back to the double proposals. Part of him wanted to tip off Ellis, while the other part told him to stay out of it.
Eventually, he decided to let it be for now. After washing up, he finally turned in for the night.
For the next two days, n managed everything Freya had assigned to him without a hitch.
Meanwhile, Ellis couldn’t shake the sense that eyes were constantly on him. Every time he stepped outside, the feeling lingered. Uneasy, he returned to his hotel room and instructed his team to look into it.
He had permission from the organization to be abroad. And his face was known to very few. There was no logical reason for anyone to recognize him. Moreover, this wasn’t the kind of ce that attracted trouble. The city was known for its romantic charm and lively atmosphere.
On the third day, the investigation yielded results.
Ellis received a call from one of his men.
“Sir, your instincts were spot on. Someone has been tailing you these past two days.”
“Who?”
“n Briggs’s subordinates.”

Ellis paused. That wasn’t the answer he’d expected.
“Do you want us to bring them in?” his subordinate asked calmly, ever ready.
“No. That won’t be necessary.”
“There’s one more thing.”
“Okay. Go on.”
“Ms. Briggs is here as well.” The tone of the subordinate remained respectful, but there was a distinct edge of caution when mentioning her name. “We traced a meeting between n and Freya. It happened three nights ago.”
Freya was here too? Ellis stood still, phone in hand, lost in thought.
His mind drifted back to the night n came to him with questions. That same evening, n had visited Freya. Could n have doubted his exnation?
Ellis quickly brushed the idea aside. If Freya had any suspicions, she’d have called him by now—she wasn’t one to hold back.
“Sir, should we dig deeper?” Ellis’s subordinate asked over the phone.
“No. Let it go.” Ellis ended the call calmly and decisively.
His subordinates were experts in surveince, bat, and precision—the best in their field.
Ellis paused, running his thumb over the phone’s edge, then dialed n to set up a meeting.
n didn’t think twice about it. To him, Ellis probably just needed help nning his proposal to Freya.
