Chapter 1100

    ?Chapter 1100:

Neglecting his own health could only end one way—sooner orter, something would go wrong.

Wanting to push him further, Lawrence tossed out an even sharper jab.

“Ever thought about pretending you’re terminally ill? I could tell Freya you’re drowning in guilt, not sleeping or eating, and the stress gave you stomach cancer. Maybe your parents would help sell it. Let her believe yourst request is to share a few peaceful, meaningful days together, and maybe guilt will drive her back into your life.”

A loud thud echoed as Kristian’s anger finally erupted. Heunched a fierce punch at Lawrence.

Prepared for the outburst, Lawrence blocked the blow the instant Kristian’s fist came his way.

“Why hit me? What, you think I’m going to mess this up for you?” Lawrence kept needling Kristian, pressing at every sore spot, hoping to yank those buried emotions to the surface. “Rx—if I fake it right from the start, there won’t be a trace left behind.”

Kristian’s fists curled tightly, knuckles white. “Try anything, and I swear—you’ll burn right alongside Jacob.”

“That mad, huh?” Lawrence teased, lips curled in faint amusement. Kristian’s eyes shed like sharpened steel. The cold radiating off him hit its icy peak.

“Fine. You don’t want me telling her? Suit yourself.” Lawrence finally cut to the chase. “Just promise you’ll eat properly, agree to the hypnosis and counseling—and I’ll keep my mouth shut.”

Kristian didn’t say a word. He simply turned and made his way over to the table to eat the breakfast waiting there.

Lawrence only allowed himself to breathe once he saw him finish everyst bite.

    ???????????????? ???????????? @ g???????ν?????????????

After eating, Kristian approached with that same cool detachment. “Come spar with me in the backyard. I’m one fighting coach short today.”

Lawrence blinked, caught off guard. Was he really that narrow-minded? He wasn’t exactly thrilled, but for the sake of Kristian’s fragile mental state, he followed him outside. A fight? Fine. Bring it on. He wasn’t scared.

Meanwhile, Gerard had barely settled in at the office when a call came in from Isaac and Melinda—they wanted to meet.

He headed to their residence to sit down with them. One nce at their solemn expressions, and he could already guess what this was about.

After a few brief pleasantries, Isaac got right to the point. “Has Kristian had a full check-uptely?”

Gerard hesitated for a beat and gave an honest reply. “Yes.”

    “What did the results say?”

    “Everything came back normal.”

“We asked to speak to you privately because we’re worried,” Melinda said softly, her brows drawn with concern. “From the way he’s beentely, it’s hard to believe he’s perfectly fine.”

Kristian still came home on the weekends, just like always, but they could see it—he didn’t have his usual spark, his appetite was fading, and the weight loss was undeniable.

“If there’s anything we should know, please don’t hide it from us,” Isaac added.

“He really is okay,” Gerard said, staying true to his word to Kristian. “His energy and appetite have dipped, but he’s been getting rest. We’ve stocked the office with food he’s willing to eat.”

At that, Isaac and Melinda exchanged a knowing look. They knew they weren’t going to get much more out of Gerard.

Melinda’s gentle eyes dulled, sorrow pooling behind them.

“Could we see the medical report?” Isaac asked.

“I’ll pick it up from the office and bring it over,” Gerard said. He already had the forged report on hand—Kristian had told him to prepare it. “You don’t need to worry. He’s really doing fine.”
