Chapter 1180

    Chapter 1180:

Meanwhile, across the city, Shelly stared at the screen, stunned.

She had heard of Norton’s injuries—how he’d been hurt saving Yvonne—and for a time, she thought she had lost her final chance to speak with him.

But today, she had dared. Just one message—onest chance.

She hadn’t expected a reply at all. So when it came, she clung to it, ignored the “No,” and began crafting a second message, carefully weighing every word.

Just as she hit send, she realized Norton had blocked her.

The hope she had been bncing so delicately shattered in an instant. She hurled her phone aside, herst sliver of pride splintering with it.

Hourster, after pacing and debating, she dialed Leif’s number. He picked up quickly.

“Leif, could you pass a message to Norton for me? I’ve truly thought everything through. I only want to see him onest time—to thank him. And Yvonne, too.”

Leif’s tone remained neutral. “Alright. I’ll let him know. I’ll call you if there’s a response.”

    Click. The call ended.

Leif passed the message along during his next hospital visit, but Yvonne wasn’t in the room at the time. She had stepped out to oversee the kitchen, still insistent on personally arranging nutritious meals for Norton since she didn’t trust the hospital food.

After hearing what Leif had to say, Norton sat back and paused to think. “Let here,” he said atst.

The next day, Shelly arrived at the hospital.

She didn’t enter right away. Instead, she lingered in the corridor, watching the exit nervously until Yvonne finally walked out. Only then did she approach the door, her heart pounding against her ribs.

    She took a deep breath.

Inside, Norton sat upright in bed, an eyebrow lifting as she stepped in.

Even pale and recovering, he still carried a quiet, maic intensity. His handsomeness was undiminished—if anything, the fragility only made him look more human. Shelly felt her heart twist like tendrils. “Norton,” she said, her voice wavering, “I’d like to talk… if that’s alright.”

He gave a brief nod, silently gesturing toward the chair across from him. She sat down, her eyes tinged with sorrow. “I know you don’t want to see me anymore,” she said softly, “but I have something important to say… I’m drowning in debt. Every bit of savings I had… gone. I’ve decided to leave the entertainment world for good—vanish from the public eye.” Her gaze dropped. “You know, I once thought that if I tried hard enough, I could win your heart. But I see it clearly now… your heart was never mine to begin with.”

Thest sentence slipped out like a sigh, heavy with defeat. Her voice, once steady, had dwindled to a hushden with mncholy and surrender.

Norton remained still. His silence was like a wall.

A bitter smile ghosted across her lips. “I won’t disturb your life any longer. I just hope… you and Yvonne can be happy.”

A stillness settled between them before Norton finally broke it in a low, clipped voice. “Take care.”
