Chapter 1123

    ?Chapter 1123:

“You should get some rest,” Norton said softly.

She nodded, softening as she took in the exhaustion lining his face. “Alright. Let’s both get some sleep. You need it more than I do.” He nodded back and leaned forward to tuck the nket securely around her.

Her body, still weak and recovering, weed the warmth andfort. Within minutes, she drifted back into sleep.

But even half-asleep, she sensed him there—his presence like a quiet sentinel at her side.

When she murmured something unintelligible in her sleep, Norton straightened instantly to scan her face for any signs of difort.

He reached out, gently checking her forehead. Satisfied there was no fever, he let out a breath and adjusted the nket once more, brushing a loose strand of hair from her cheek.

He stayed there like that, simply watching her.

His intense gaze made her cheeks pink even in her sleep. She stirred again, eyelids fluttering open. “I’m really okay,” she whispered. “You should sleep too.”

Norton only smiled. “Go back to sleep. I’ll stay here with you.”

He noticed how lightly she was sleeping, as if the wrong breath could wake her again. So, without a word, he began to gently pat her back in a slow, rhythmic motion—protective and soothing, like a parentforting a child.

And it worked. Under his touch, Yvonne sank into a deep, peaceful slumber, her heart wrapped in quiet gratitude. She didn’t stir again until morning.

Sunlight streamed through the windows when she woke.

Turning her head, she spotted Norton still beside her—his head propped on his hand, fast asleep.

She shifted carefully, trying not to wake him, but the movement stirred him anyway. His eyes opened groggily.

“You’re awake?” he murmured in a husky, sleepy voice.

Yvonne nodded. “I’m going to freshen up.”

Slipping out of bed, she padded toward the bathroom. Norton followed quietly, leaning against the doorframe as he watched her.

She paused, puzzled by his clingy behavior. “What?”

“Nothing,” he replied easily. “Just looking at you.”

She gave him a curious nce but didn’t press. Turning back to the mirror, she continued to wash up in silence.

When she was done and turned to step out, she nearly collided with him. Norton stood squarely in her path, blocking her way.

His broad frame cornered her gently by the sink, leaving her nowhere to retreat.

Startled, she looked up at him through the mirror. But his eyes weren’t teasing—they were locked on hers, like a deep pool.

Then, from behind his back, he brought out a small, elegant box—luxurious, unmistakably high-end.

Yvonne almost gasped. Her eyes lit up with unrestrained delight. “Wait, is that the limited edition ne from the brand I love? Is it for me?”
