Andrea thought Grace was such a bitch.
"Andrea, let go of me!" Liam shouted.
But Andrea wouldn''t. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she clung to Liam''s arm. "My stomach hurts, too! Howe you didn''t care this much about me? I need painkillers just as much!"
She snatched the bottle out of his hand and, without hesitation, shoved all the pills into her mouth-only to spit them out secondster.
She was pregnant. There was no way she''d actually swallow them, but the act of retching and spitting ruined the pillspletely.
Liam''s hands trembled with rage as he stared down at the destroyed medication. Then, he snapped. His handshed out, pping her across the face.
In that moment, fury clouded his vision. He genuinely wanted to strangle her. Something dark twisted inside him as he stared her down. He grabbed his keys and stormed out the door without saying another word.
He''d go buy a new bottle himself—he didn''t have time to deal with Andrea.
She stood there, stunned, one hand cradling her stinging cheek. She''d been sure he''dfort her, not hit her. But instead, he just left-quiet, angry, and gone.
Tears streamed down her face as rage bubbled up in her chest. This was exactly what Grace wanted, she thought bitterly. She got exactly what she came for.
It was the first time Liam had everid a hand on her.
She was supposed to be his fiancée, his future wife-the next matriarch of the Lambert family. Yet, he pped her?
Now furious to the point her scalp tingled, Andrea stomped upstairs and kicked open Grace''s bedroom door.
Grace was curled up in bed, her face bloodless, barely aware of the sounds around her.<fndd8e> Find the newest release on ?ovelFind</fndd8e>
Her world was a blur-nothing but blinding, gut-wrenching pain. She was on the verge of passing out.
Andrea stood by the bed, eyes red, lips curled in a sneer. "You''re still pretending, huh? Liam''s out buying you pain meds now. Feeling proud of yourself? Got what you wanted, didn''t you, bitch?"
She walked into the bathroom, filled a basin with cold water, and marched back to the bed. Without warning, she dumped it all over Grace.
"Are you still faking it?"
Her fury was boiling over, burning hotter with every p of pain on her cheek.
But Grace didn''t move. She didn''t even flinch. She was already hanging on by a thread. Now, that icy water cut through her like knives.
She forced herself to sit up, vision swimming, unable to see what was in front of her. She leaned over the edge of the bed, trying to throw up, but nothing came.
Andrea raised a brow and tossed the basin aside. "See? I knew you were faking it. Just a second ago, you looked half-dead; now you''re sitting up."
Grace could hear her now. But the pain was so unbearable, she didn''t even have the energy to feel angry.
Andrea, seeing she still wasn''t getting a reaction, bent down to grab the basin again. She filled it a second time and made her way back.
Just as she raised the water to throw it again, the bedroom door burst open.
Liam stood there, soaked in sweat, holding a new bottle of painkillers. He froze when he saw Andrea with the basin in her hand.
His voice dropped into something deadly cold. "What the hell are you doing?" he questioned.
Andrea didn''t flinch. She dumped the water anyway. "Liam, can''t you see? She''s faking it. She''s manipting you. Don''t fall for it."
Until now, Liam had never truly believed someone could be this cruel, this twisted. Now he understood why his sister had warned him about Andrea.
He saw it as clear as day-behind that innocent face was something venomous. And he''d finally seen it for what it was.
