Chapter 2878

"All the residents here are rich, aren''t they?" Charity replied with augh.

    "That''s true."

    Max then dropped the subject.

Charity did not mind whether she had a neighbor or not. As a public figure, she hardly interacted with her neighbors, so whoever lived next door did not matter to her.

After her confinement period, she returned to the office to work.

She never used to have many goals for making money, but now she wanted to make more money for her child to spend.

Regardless of whether her child would turn out promising in the future, he would not need to suffer if she made more money.

In the evening, when her car arrived at the gate of her vi, there was a big lorry parked at the two-story vi next door, and a mover was carrying a wheelchair into the house.

Charity frowned, but after reversing her car into the porch, she headed to the garden.

While carrying Cal, Larissa was chatting with Aunty Lorrie and Aunty Queenie and watching the sunset.

"Mom, our new neighbor has moved in so soon, huh?" Charity asked while carrying Cal over.

"Yeah. I heard the house has been sold." Larissa said with a smile, "The environment and property management here are great, so there''s no need to worry about not being able to sell the house."

"Do you know who the new owner is?" Charity asked out of curiosity, which was unusual.

"I haven''t seen the owner." Larissa shook her head. "However, it''s best they don''te and interact with me because I don''t know what to say to those rich people. They mightugh at me for being a countrywoman."

Aunty Lorrie teased Larissa, "Your daughter has done a great job, and her friends are all rich. Why are you belittling yourself?"

“I''m used to interacting with the poor all my life.” Larissa said with a sigh, “When I just came to Canberra, I didn''t know what to do with myself. If it weren''t for the fact that I had to take care of my child, I would rather live in my hometown. I would feel much morefortable that way."

"Mom, don''t say that. From now on, you can stay in Canberra to be with Cal and me," Charity said angrily.

Those words warmed Larissa''s heart. "Lizzie, you''re much livelier now that you''re a mother. When you entered the entertainment industry, you were cold and indifferent to everything."

    Charity was momentarily stunned.

She was in a good mood, and if it had not been for Larissa''s reminder, she would not have noticed it.

"Mom, I''m going to breastfeed now."

Charity smiled and carried her child upstairs.

Thanks to the good nourishment her caregiver provided, Charity had sufficient breast milk.

She was initially plump after giving birth to her child. However, given that Cal had been taking a lot of breast milk every day, she soon thinned down and returned to her original shape.

As Freya said, Charity looked as though she had never been pregnant.

The next day, the renovation noises came from next door.

After a few days of torture, it was finally the weekend. When Charity was pushing Cal back from a stroll in the neighborhood, she suddenly caught sight of a tall man at the gate of her vi. He was pressing the doorbell.

With his back facing her, the man was wearing a smokey-gray sweater and a pair of ck pants. He was tall, sturdy, and holding a wooden stick. At first nce, he exuded an aura of a foreign nobleman.

Somehow... she found the man''s back rather familiar.

"May I know... who you''re looking for?" Charity asked vigntly.

The man''s body stiffened for a few seconds before he turned around.

Under his short hair were mesmerizing features that could move a woman, and there was a faint scar at the corner of his eye, which affected his looks. Although he was less handsome because of that, he looked like a more mature and charming man.

After Charity''s mind went nk for a few seconds, she subconsciously looked down, and her eyes settled on his standing legs.
