Charity stared at the message with a weird expression.
If it were not for Chester sending voice messages asionally, she would suspect that the Chester behind the messages was fake.
That man had always been bossy, vicious, and stubborn. When did he be so understanding?
When did those changes happen?
It seemed they urred after his leg was amputated.
Could he have suffered trauma due to the loss of his leg and turned into another person?
The next day, Freya gave Charity a call
after the group arrived in Country R. She said she and Ryan had driven to the hotel''s entrance to pick her up.
After informing the tour guide, Charity brought Larissa and their luggage downstairs.
When Larissa saw Ryan''s handsome and gentle face, she suddenly felt afraid.
Although it was her first time meeting Ryan, she heard from others that Freya''s boyfriend was the prime minister''s son.
"How can we possibly let you pick us up? You should''ve told us the address, and we would''ve gone over in a taxi." It was Larissa''s first time interacting with such a person, and she felt like she was dreaming. She even sounded a little nervous.
Ryan was a sensitive person. He had met many people like Larissa since he was young, so upon seeing her state, he smiled
gently. "Aunt Larissa, Eliza and Freya are good friends. Since you''re Eliza''s mom and my senior, you don''t have to be so nervous."
"That''s right." Freya nced at the man behind the wheel and smiled. She said, " Aunt Larissa, Eliza is my best friend. It''s only natural we''re here to pick her up.”
Larissa sighed. "What have my Lizzie, whoes from a small town, done to be able to make friends like you?"
"We also came from a small town,” Freya said with a smile. “If Ryan were a person who''s particr about identities, he wouldn''t have fallen in love with a divorced woman like me."
"Huh? Are you a divorcee?" Larissa was shocked. "You''re such a nicedy. Who''s the blind person who didn''t cherish you?" "There are many blind people nowadays." Since they had nothing else to do in the car, Freya started telling Larissa about her divorce.
Ryan did not mind it.
After an hour''s drive, they arrived at a cabin at the foot of Lumi Mountain.
Catherine was ying in the cabin with Suzie and Lucas, and Shaun was nowhere to be seen.
Upon asking, they found out that Shaun had gone to apany Chester.
Catherine joked, "Ever since we came to Country R, Shaun has been with Chester every day. He said he was here to spend Christmas with us, but I think he''s here to be with his brother. I only see him during nighttime."
Charity looked around. "Does Chester live
near here?''
Catherine pointed at a hill in front of them. "The hospital Chester is admitted into is located two hills away. It takes 20 minutes by bicycle. It''ste now, so you guys can go over to visit tomorrow."
Charity nodded, and her dark eyshes were downcast. She looked like she was deep in thought.
That night, they had a barbeque session in the courtyard. The children were jumping around, ughing happily, and it made Larissa jealous. They were such beautiful kids. It would be nice if one of them were her grandchild.
After giving it some thought, Larissa approached Charity and said, "Didn''t you say you don''t want to get married but want to try getting a baby through in vitro fertilization? You should do it. I support
you. You can give birth to a set of twins, and I''ll help you to take care of them." Cough.
Charity, who was eating a kebab, choked out of surprise. "Mom, why are you-"
Before she finished speaking, she noticed how Larissa was looking at Suzie and Lucas and suddenly figured it out.
Even she felt envious, not to mention her mom.
Anyway, she did not intend to get married in this life.
The sooner she gave birth to a baby through in vitro fertilization, the easier it was for her body to recover.
