Chapter 501 Graces Brother

As Natalie spoke, her voice carried such a biting coldness that Yvonne felt an invisible hand tightening around her throat, silencing herpletely.

"If you can''t do as I wished, Yvonne, you''d better inform me early and just leave."

Natalie''s voice, cold as ice, echoed in Yvonne''s ears again. It took her a moment before she could muster the strength to speak.

"I understand, Ms. Walker. I''ll make sure it''s done right."

The moment Yvonne finished speaking, Natalie ended the call.

Grace was surrounded by police officers in the ward, ceaselessly firing questions at her.

"Mrs. Langley Senior, do you have a brother named Kenton Langley? Records show he wasn''t listed under your household and didn''t grow up with you. Can you tell us where is he now?"

"Mrs. Langley Senior, did you have Kenton take Selena away to be sold? Do you acknowledge this or deny it?"

"Grace Langley, you used Langley Group to conceal illegal activities at Kenton''s hospital, including infant trafficking. Do you confess or deny it?"

"I deny it." Grace met the officers'' gaze with a calm demeanor. "I have no idea who Kenton is, and I never arranged for Selena to be sold. She was taken by a nurse at the hospital-this has nothing to do with me.

"If you''re going to interrogate me without proof, I hope you''re ready for awsuit."

"You''re denying Kenton''s crimes, but don''t tell me you have no idea who Julie Lombard is," the officer said as he stared at Grace. "Five minutes ago, Julie reported to the police department and handed over a DNA test confirming your connection to Kenton.

"The DNA test confirms that you and Kenton are indeed siblings, but he''s nowhere to be found. And his hospital? It was the infamous Serenity Health Hospital in Amberton.

"A fire broke out at the hospital five years ago, killing five people, one of whom was identified as the hospital director, Kenton Langley. But ording to Julie, he didn''t actually die. He disappeared after the incident."

After a quick pause, the officer asked, "Grace Langley, were you responsible for the fire at Serenity Health Hospital five years ago?"

Grace''s eyes widened for a second, then she let out a sarcastic chuckle. "You''re questioning me without evenpleting your investigation? Here''s my answer-I don''t know what you''re talking about."

"Does this mean you''re refusing to cooperate, Grace Langley?"

"I have nothing to do with this, and I don''t even know the people you''re using me of knowing. What do you expect me to cooperate with?"

Grace pointed toward the door, irritation evident in her voice. "I''m not feeling well and need rest. If you want my cooperation, get your facts right, bring solid evidence, then arrest me. When that happens, I''ll cooperate. Until then, direct your questions to mywyer."

With that, shey down and closed her eyes.

The officers shared a brief look before silently snapping the handcuffs onto Grace''s wrists.

"If you won''t cooperate, we have no choice but to take you in for questioning. From this moment on, every word you say will be documented as evidence."

Without hesitation, the officers hauled Grace up from the hospital bed and dragged her out.

With Julie as a witness and Kenton officially wanted, they weren''t concerned about Grace''s refusal to cooperate. The evidence would pry the truth from her one way or another.

Grace was taken straight to the interrogation room, where she came face-to-face with Julie, the witness against her.

A stack of photographsy before Julie, capturing a younger Grace and Kenton together-irrefutable proof of their past.

Beside the photographs, two engraved containers sat on the table. One wasbeled "Grace Langley", and the other read "Kenton Langley".

Grace''s expression darkened the moment she saw the engraved containers.

Julie cast an eye at Grace, smiling. "Fancy meeting you here, Grace. Well, this isn''t exactly the first meeting I had in mind.

"Kenton never let me meet you properly. He always kept me hidden, watching from the dark while he spoke with you-and made me document everything. Funny how those photos are proving useful now, right?"

Grace''s eyes locked into the photos, then the engraved containers. After what felt like an eternity, she ground out, "Kenton betrayed me?"

"No, not really, Julie answered, shaking her head. "Kenton always respected and admired you. He used to tell me all the time that you were the one he aspired to be like. The Langleys are down to just you two. He knew he was always a step behind you, so he pushed himself to follow your lead."

Julie''s lips curled into a faint smile. "Grace, Kenton has always tried to follow in your footsteps. He''s worked for you all these years, and you''ve been good to him. By all rights, my husband and I should be thanking you."

Grace''s eyes burned with fury as she dug her nails into her palm. "You turned your back on me, Julie, and on Kenton too."

Julie shook her head again. "No,

Grace. I never betrayed you or

Kenton. He''s the one who told me to

keep all these. I don''t know what he

was nning, but I knew one

thing if I ever got a shot at

escaping the control of the Langleys,

I was going to take it."

Then, she stood up. "These baby teeth belonged to you and Kenton. He may be missing, but they''re more than enough for a DNA test to prove you''re siblings.

"Grace, are you really saying you had nothing to do with me being locked up all these years? But well, after that ident left you with the brain of a child, who would ever suspect that the mighty Mr. Langley Senior could be the mastermind of something so outrageous?"

Julie gritted her teeth, spitting out each word with measured intensity. "I stand as

the official witness for the authorities. I''m naming you, Grace Langley, as an aplice to Kenton in the trafficking of infants.

"And it''s not just me. Selena has provided evidence. Over the years she was trafficked, she secretly investigated, and many of the people she met were sold from Kenton''s hospital."

"No... No way." Grace dropped into the chair, shaking her head violently. "You''re lying. This is a trick-it has to be!"

"How can you still be in denial at this point?"

Julie slid the items toward Grace. "I also have other things Kenton left behind. He

may be missing, but he made sure to leave me enough clues.

"There''s no way out, Grace. ept the investigation!"

As Julie''s words fell, she left the interrogation room.

It was Natalie who had Walter arrange this chance for Julie to confront Grace.

Normally, the police department wouldn''t permit her to see Grace. However, with Amberton''s topwyer, Walter, personally assisting them, they were willing to make an exception.

A crucial figure in this case was Grace''s brother, Kenton.

Julie had no clue about Kenton''s whereabouts after her imprisonment. Yet, after escaping, memories of their past interactions slowly starteding together. Finally, it dawned on Julie that Kenton had been preparing her to hold onto the evidence from the very beginning.
