Chapter 499 Do Not Let Her Do Anything So Dangerous

After Hector finished speaking, Natalie, who had been making a call by the window, ended the conversation and returned to the table with her phone in hand.

"Hector, I''ve spoken to Mom." Natalie then looked at Grace. "Mrs. Langley Senior, my mother said she will never forgive you for the rest of her life. So any attempt to appeal to me emotionally is useless.

She added, "However, if you want to save Langley Group, I can give you a chance. You must truthfully confess the real purpose behind the child swap, the details of how it was carried out, and everyone involved.

"If you refuse, then whether it is Langley Group or your biological daughter, Megan, you can watch them both fall into ruin. This is your only chance. Think carefully before you answer."

After speaking, Natalie turned to Hector. "I''m hungry. Let''s eat quickly. Then, I need to pick up Marcus. He has taken care of Laura and is on his way here."

    Hector nodded. "Alright."

Because of Grace''s words, he was in no mood to tease Natalie about Marcus.

With servers attending to them, Natalie didn''t have to lift a finger while eating seafood. They finished their meal quickly, yet Grace remained silent.

"Since you don''t wish to speak, then forget it." Natalie took a wet napkin and wiped her hands. "If you have concerns you can''t talk about, we won''t force you."

Grace remained dazed. Langley Group was already on the verge of copse. It needed a new leader and a massive injection of funds.

She could no longer secure any investments, yet the person on that phone call continued to use Megan to threaten her. She knew almost nothing about that woman, let alone her true motives.

She hadn''t lied to Hector, but he clearly didn''t believe her. At that moment, Grace was suddenly overwhelmed with exhaustion and despair.

"Hector, let''s go." After wiping her hands, Natalie stood up without looking back.

At a nearby table, Victor and his family saw Natalie and Hector leaving and quickly got up to follow. Soon, the once grand restaurant was left with only Grace and the servers.

One of them carefully asked, "Mrs. Langley Senior, are you alright?"

Grace snapped out of her daze, staring at the empty restaurant. After a long silence, she finally spoke. "Where is Natalie? Where is Selena and her family?"

"Mrs. Langley Senior, Ms. Walker, and Ms. Langley''s family have already left."

    "I see."

Grace staggered as she stood up. A wave of dizziness hit her, and everything went ck as she copsed to the ground.

"Mrs. Langley Senior! Mrs. Langley Senior!"

Just before she lost consciousness, she heard the anxious voices of the servers calling out to her.

    ...

Natalie and Hector left the restaurant and headed to the lobby. Not long after, Victor and his family caught up to them.

"Natalie, wait a moment," Selena called her name, jogging forward and pulling a notebook from her bag. "These are all the ces I was taken to over the years and buyers who purchased me. I don''t have the power or money to y the hero and rescue others.

"Surviving and escaping was already a gift from fate, but I know there are still many girls trapped in those ces, suffering the same fate as I did."

Her eyes reddened as she spoke. She sniffled, but her tears fell uncontrobly.

"I resented you, believing you stole my life. I thought I was never meant to suffer like that. When I first returned, I saw how well you lived in the Langley family, and I couldn''t ept it. I directed all my hatred and anger at you.

"I was horribly wrong, and I regret it deeply, but I acknowledge what I have done.

"People make mistakes. At first, when your mother took revenge on us, we resented her. But now we understand how ridiculous and unjustified our thoughts and actions were."

Selena wiped her tears. "Natalie, you''re the true heiress of the Walker family. You have Marcus, and I also know you helped many impoverished children.

"These girls are just like me. They are pitiful. Some of them may never escape the ces where they were sold.

"I can''t save them, and I''m not telling

you this to pressure you into acting.

I just believe that you might be

willing to do something about it, if

you don''t want to, you can return the

notebook to me. Or throw it away, or even burn it."

Natalie took the notebook from Selena and flipped through a few pages. Then, she put it in her bag.

"Alright, Selena, let''s exchange numbers. If I ever need your help, you will step forward, won''t you?"

Her cold gaze met Selena''s. Her tone was calm, without any hint of emotion, but Selena noticed that Natalie''s hands at her sides were clenched into fists.

Selena''s eyes glistened with tears as she nodded. "I will. Natalie, if you ever need me for this, contact me immediately. I wille at once."

    "Good."

Natalie took out her phone and pulled up her QR code for Selena. "Save my number too."

"Alright." Selena wiped her tears while scanning the QR code and sending her number. Then, unable to hold back, she turned and hugged Diana.

"Mom, I still have a chance to atone for my mistakes."

"My poor daughter." Diana also wept. After Selena returned, she had always sided with her, knowing how much she had suffered.

Even though Selena had been forced into terrible situations and had to please all sorts of men, Diana never scolded her.

She had been sold as a baby and spent years being passed from one hand to another. None of the people who bought her were good.

Diana was already deeply grateful that her daughter had survived and

made it home. Holding fore, n''et

she sobbed for a while before

kneeling before Natalie again. "Natalie, in the past, when we knelt, it was because of the Walker family''s power. Now, I kneel because I truly know I was wrong.

"I shouldn''t have turned my love for Selena into hatred for you. I shouldn''t have treated you that way. I regret it, but I cannot undo what has already happened. From now on, will regrly donate blood. For every time we took yours, will donate in return."

Tears streamed down her face as she choked on her words.

She added, "If you ever need anything from us, please tell us. We will do

everything in our power to help."

Natalie looked at Diana and Selena in silence. Thinking of the notebook Selena had given her, she said nothing in the end.

"Alright, I understand. If I need anything, I will let you know. Hector, let''s go."

    "Alright."

Natalie and Hector left the hotel. As soon as they got into the car, Natalie pulled the notebook from her bag and handed it to Hector.

"Hector, I want to do something about this."

Hector flipped through a few pages, his face growing darker with each one.

"Nat, absolutely not. This is far too dangerous. We should report it to the police. You have just returned home. I will not let you take on something this risky.
