Chapter 1356

    ?Chapter 1356:

The words mmed into Noah like a steel weight. His jaw tightened.

    His eyes narrowed.

    Zupren government?

    Afara was with the government?

    It didn’t make sense.

Yet Sadie looked up at him with a steady fire in her eyes. She wasn’t guessing. She believed it.

Noah didn’t answer. He couldn’t—not right away.

Sadie saw the doubt on his face. She continued, more quietly this time, “I saw the tattoo on his wrist. The mark of the Night Bats. It’s in my grandfather’s files—I know I’m not wrong. The Wolfpack’s an international crime syndicate. Zupren…”

“Government’s been hunting them for years. This could be our chance to flee,” she said. She was trying to convince Noah—but also herself.

They were cing everything on a single bet. If they were right, they had a chance at freedom.

If not, the fallout would crush them both.

    Noah paused, deep in thought.

He turned to Sadie, studying her pale face and the unwavering resolve in her eyes.

After a moment, he gave a slow nod.

Whatever dangersy ahead, he would trust her.

    He would follow her lead.

Noah kept his eyes on her and made up his mind.

As the three prepared to leave, the warehouse doors burst open. A bodyguard stumbled in, his face stricken with fear. “Mr. Afara! It’s bad—White Tiger and his men are here!”

    Afara’s usual smirk vanished.

    He cursed under his breath.

White Tiger—second-inmand of the Wolfpack and Emerson’s most loyal enforcer—was infamous for his brutal precision.

Afara hadn’t expected him to show up so soon.

Without a second thought, he grabbed Sadie and Noah and shoved them toward the car parked by the back entrance. “Go! Now!” he barked at the driver. He didn’t follow.

Instead, he drew a sleek ck pistol from his waist and turned to face the shadows flooding through the entrance.

Gunfire erupted, echoing through the vast, empty warehouse.

The car shot forward like a bolt released from a bowstring.

Sadie turned back instinctively. Through the rear window, she caught a glimpse of Afara’s silhouette swallowed by fire and chaos. Her heart felt tightly gripped by an unseen force.
