?Chapter 1350:
She marched toward the exit with the attitude of a frustrated customer who had found nothing worth buying.
The bodyguards moved forward as Sadie stepped out, but she swept past them without acknowledgment, radiating cold indifference. She never turned around, yet as she crossed the store’s threshold, her eyes darted sideways for just an instant.
Secondster, she vanished into the flowing river of shoppers without so much as a backward nce.
That split-second nce had carried everything she couldn’t say aloudfort, goodbye, and the single message she dared to send. “Noah, please wait for me.”
The moment she disappeared from view, Noah stepped out from behind a marble column.
His face had turned to stone, harder than winter frost.
He had read her nce perfectly, seeing through her brave mask to the terror lurking underneath.
He stalked into the boutique with powerful, determined steps.
The sales assistant started toward him but froze mid-step, something in his presence warning her to keep her distance, and she snapped her mouth shut.
He made a beeline for the fitting rooms and began throwing open each door in session.
In the third room, he discovered what he was looking for—the carpet with its telltale raised edge.
Down on one knee, Noah peeled back the carpet, his slender fingers uncovering a small note.
Curiosity quickened his hands as he opened the paper. A rush of hurried, elegant handwriting met his eyes. “Stay calm. Emerson has no intention of hurting me. Make sure you stay safe. When we meet, I’ll exin everything. Right now, I’m only pretending to yield to Emerson, and he trusts it.”
A sense of relief washed over Noah. His racing heart finally slowed as hope crept back in.
For someone in such danger, Sadie’s concern for him was almostughable. Only she would worry about him instead of herself. Fingers tightening around the message, Noah squeezed the paper in his palm.
Rising to his full height, he turned to the bodyguard at his side. His tone was steady and unhurried. “Keep an eye on her, but don’t get too close. Make sure nothing happens to her.”
Sadie had already slipped into the backseat of a ck car.

A heavy silence lingered in the air as the vehicle moved, the bodyguards seated at the front looking ahead with unreadable, stony faces.
Sadie settled deeper into the seat. She shut her eyes, and for a split second, a figure darted across her thoughts like a shadow slipping through a half-open door.
Noah looked like he had lost some weight. There was a faint paleness clinging to his skin. Even so, he still stood with his back straight and his shoulders firm.
