Chapter 1304

    ?Chapter 1304:

A new light flickered in Beal’s eyes as he studied her, curiosity overtaking skepticism. Sensing his change of mood, Hailey pressed on. “Name your terms. If you’re willing to help, I’ll agree to whatever you ask.” She saw no other path left to take.

Alex’s suspicions were growing by the day, and now Noah was reopening Sutton’s case. If her secrets came to light, she and Salex would have nowhere to hide.

Beal said nothing at first, watching her with aplicated gaze, torn between caution and intrigue. For a split second, he hesitated—this was far above his pay grade, the kind of matter only Humphrey could handle. Even so, he wasn’t ready tomit without more information.

“I might be able to help,” he said atst, his voice t and unreadable. “But you’ll have toy everything out—leave nothing in the shadows.”

A storm of hesitation passed over Hailey’s face, but her resolve solidified almost instantly.

Backed into a corner, Hailey realized trust was her only weapon left. “Sutton and I were together once,” she admitted, finally revealing a truth she had kept hidden for years.

Beal’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of shock slipping through his mask. That revtion caught himpletely off guard. Suddenly, it made perfect sense how Hailey knew so many things.

She pressed on, her words dragging out like a confession under duress. “It was me who killed Sutton and framed Sadie.” Raising her chin, she fixed Beal with a wild stare. “Salex isn’t Noah’s child. Sutton is his real father.”

That revtion detonated in the room, leaving Beal momentarily speechless. Never in his wildest conjectures had he imagined the truth could be so explosive. He quickly recognized just how calcting and ruthless Hailey could be: murder, betrayal, deception about her son’s parentage—she had pulled it all off without a flicker of remorse.

For the first time, Beal regarded Hailey as more than just another pawn. With that kind of cunning and insider knowledge, she could be an invaluable tool—if kept on a short leash. Quietly, he made his way out of the room, his expression unchanged though his thoughts raced with new possibilities. Contacting Humphrey shot to the top of his priorities.

Down a shadowy alleyway, a nondescript ck sedan idled, engine humming low. Sliding into the passenger side, Beal greeted the man inside. “Mr. Perry.”

Beal repeated every detail Hailey had confessed: Noah’s renewed investigation into Sutton’s death, her history with Sutton, how she had killed him and framed Sadie, and the most astonishing truth of all—Salex’s real biological father.

An oppressive silence filled the car. From the shadows in the back seat, a faint, chillingugh broke the stillness. Humphrey leaned forward so the streetlights carved harsh lines across his face. His smile flickered with menace, a dangerous gleam simmering just below the surface. Alex had strutted through life certain that Noah’s blood gave him power over the Wall Group, confident that nothing could shake his hold. Ridiculous. It turned out the boy was not Noah’s child, and Hailey had managed to turn the tables in ways he never expected.

A sinister grin tugged at Humphrey’s lips as a wless scheme began to form in his mind. Nothing appealed to him more than Alex’s ruin; he could almost taste its sweetness. “Let her think we’re going along with whatever she wants,” he said. “Promise her favors if that’s what it takes. I want her to be our most ruthless weapon—and I want her to choose it herself.”
