    As Sadie opened the file, her eyes were immediately drawn to the words “Effective Immediately” and the bright red seal. Her head snapped up, eyes shimmering with tears.


    “Nigel…” she murmured, her voice thick with emotion.


    “This is your due,” Nigel said, patting her hand gently. “I’ve never forgotten your grandfather’s contributions to the Wall Group.” Nigel paused, as if remembering something else. “Also, Sadie, my goddaughter Zoe is getting married soon.
