?Chapter 1448:
She had never intended topare herself to Eileen.
Colby continued, “No wonder Bryan loves Eileen deeply. Even I think…”
Eileen is a hundred times, even a thousand times better than you. How dare youpare yourself to her? Do you think you can use our Deleon family as a stepping stone topete with Eileen for a man? You’re living in a fantasy.”
He didn’t give Presley a chance to respond. Taking Angell by the hand, he said to her, “I’ll have the butlere to pick you upter. Go home and focus on your studies. Don’t go to her ce anymore.” It was clear he didn’t want Angell to stay with Presley any longer. After speaking, he led Angell into the ward. Angell didn’t look back as she followed him.
Presley watched the backs of the father and daughter, her hands clenched into fists.
How was she any less than Eileen?
If she hadn’t been punished by school back then, she would have remained by Bryan’s side!
Neither Vivian nor Z stood a chance of marrying Bryan. Eileen had just been lucky.
As Presley stood there, images of Eileen haunted her mind, weighing heavily on her heart.
She said, “Colby, you’re not seeing things clearly! I’ll show you that without Bryan, Eileen is nothing!”
Inside the ward, Colby paused for a moment when he heard her shout but quickly regained hisposure, shutting the door.

Presley turned sharply and walked into the elevator, her eyesnding on a woman in the corner with red eyes and a pale face.
“Babe, don’t cry. We’ll have another baby. I know you wanted to keep this one, but it was an ident, right? Take good care of yourself and rest now.” The man tenderly wiped away the woman’s tears with a tissue.
The woman turned her head away, pushing his hand aside. “Now that the baby is gone, we don’t have to be together anymore.”
“What are you talking about?” The man frowned, his expression bing stern. “I know you’re upset, but can you try to think clearly?”
“How am I not thinking clearly? I can’t get over that the baby is gone. Being around you is painful. That life ended inside me, but you can’t even understand my pain!” the woman said.
The man’s frustration grew. “I can’t understand your pain, so you want me to hurt as well? How many times did I tell you to be careful during your pregnancy? You didn’t listen. Now the baby is gone, and you’re throwing a fit. Do you think the whole world owes you something…?”
The two continued to argue until the elevator doors slowly opened, and the man stormed out, leaving the woman behind.
Presley nced at the woman, then turned and walked out of the elevator, watching the man’s retreating figure.
It seemed that even the strongest love could not withstand the test of intense emotional pain.
Once people felt pain, they often lost theirposure and found it hard to think clearly.
