    Naturally, everyone assumed his transformation was because of Presley. Rumors about Colby’s deep affection for Presley before began to spread, bringing a surge of positive attention to the Deleon family.


    Eileen had never imagined she would bump into Colby by chance when Dalores invited her and Phoebe out for dinner to celebrate Emerson’s release from the hospital.


    With the weather warming up, Eileen had opted for a ck dress. From the back, her slim arms and legs gave no hint of her pregnancy, but from the front, her growing belly was impossible to miss.


    Dalores and Phoebe walked on either side of her, hovering close to protect her.


    “Where ‘s Emerson P. ” Eileen asked, expecting to see the boy. After recovering, Emerson should have put on some weight by now.


    Dalores sighed. “Julio refuses to let him leave the house. He insists Emerson needs at least six months to fully recover. The ce is overflowing with new toys—Emerson has got enough to open one a day for the rest of the year.”


    “‘Emerson has spent months in the hospital; it has almost be his second home. Since he doesn ‘t have many toys, let him enjoy his time ying with toys now that he is finally discharged from the hospital. It’s perfectly fine if he  stays indoors,” Phoebe said, sensing that Dalores might have reservations about this. “As a mother, you should know that a child shouldn’t be going out often after just recovering from an illness.”


    Dalores frowned a little and responded, “‘I’m not faulting Julio for keeping Emerson indoors. The truth is, I have to work every day, and Julio is always with him. Emerson has really bonded with him.”

    It didn’t help that Julio had bought all those toys, and now that Emerson had started to talk, he was constantly calling Julio “Daddy”.


    This left Dalores withplex emotions.


    “You could always choose to not work,” Eileen suggested. “You could stay home with Emerson every day. Julio will make sure you have everything you need. After all, you’re his wife, and it’s his responsibility to take care of you and your child both.”


    Dalores nced at Eileen and replied, “‘But… We haven’t actually gotten married yet. I currently have custody of Emerson. ”


    Once they officially tied the knot, Emerson would need to be included in the Freguson family. Then…


    “So think it through before you get married, but set a timeline for yourself. You can’t just keep postponing things and stay unwed forever while raising the child, can you?” Noticing Dalores getting lost in her thoughts again, Eileen attempted to provide some guidance.


    However, given Dalores’ unique circumstances, Eileen kept her advice brief, and the topic quickly ended as they all walked into the restaurant.


    They decided on a buffet-style restaurant. While Phoebe and Dalores headed to fill their tes, Eileen sat there and caught sight of Colby in the crowd.


    Though it hadn’t been long, Colby’s facial features had be more natural.


    Colby noticed Eileen, too, but she quickly looked away, choosing not to acknowledge him.


    To Eileen’s surprise, when she looked up again, Colby was  already seated right across from her.


    “Mrs. Dawson, are you nning to attend my wedding?” he asked.
