?Chapter 1428:
A look of realization dawned on Bryan’s face, and he frowned slightly. “Interesting,” he said. “Well, there’s no better time than now. Let’s talk.”
The project site stretched out before Bryan and Javier, devoid of any noteworthy features.
Bryan eased himself out of the car, his lean frame resting against the cool metal. With a practiced motion, he extended a cigarette to Javier. “You go first, Mr. Deleon,” he said.
Javier epted the cigarette but left it unlit. “‘Let’s not blur the lines between business and personal matters,” he said, his tone carefully neutral. “Your vendetta against the Deleon Group—it’s about my wife, isn’t it?”
Bryan flicked his lighter, the me dancing in the breeze as he lit his own cigarette. He then held it out to Javier. “And aren’t you targeting the EB Group because of your wife, Mr.
Deleon?” he countered, exhaling a plume of smoke.
Javier fell silent.
Bryan continued, “The Deleon Group wanted to nt its g on Onnd, but let me tell you, that’s the Worst turf you could’ve picked. It’s already packed with big domestic yers—standing out here is difficult. Word is, your foreign shareholders t-out rejected the idea of expanding here. But your wife, well, she pushed for it, didn’t she? And you, knowing she’s got her own game n, let her do what she wanted. Don’t you think keeping such a woman by your side as a memory of yourte wife is insulting yourte wife?”
Bryan didn’t want to escte things too much. A direct showdown with the Deleon Group would only drag on for years, especially if Javier yed the international connections card.
He had other things on his mind—like being there when Eileen gave birth. He wanted her to deliver the baby without any unnecessary stress. Otherwise, he wouldn’t waste his breath on Javier.

The word “insulting” struck Javier like a blow to the gut, making his face pale, and a dull ache settled in his chest.
“No one can really rece someone else, Mr. Deleon. You used to be a top dog in the business world; you should know that. A moment of weakness is one thing, but dragging it out…” Bryan’s lips curled into a slight, thin smile—not exactly sarcastic, but far from friendly. That look alone was enough to make Javier more ufortable.
Bryan leisurely flicked the ash from his cigarette, his tall, unruffled frame exuding an air of calm that was impossible to ignore.
Javier said, “Are you saying that if I deal with Amoura, you could let the Deleon Group off? If that’s the case, then I can temporarily
But Bryan cut him off before he could finish. “That’s not what I meant, Mr. Deleon. How you handle Amoura is your business. In this game, we y with power, not personal drama. I’m just giving you a heads-up—you should do something before it’s toote.”
Bryan crushed his cigarette underfoot, straightened his suit with a quick brush of his hand, gave a small nod, and walked toward the project site.
Javier watched him leave, his brow furrowed tightly in frustration.
“0h, one more thing.” Bryan paused mid-step, turning back briefly. “‘Colby has been quite persistent in his attempts to meet with me. I made it clear that unless you came personally, I wouldn’t entertain him again. Did he ry that message to you?”
The question was more for show. Bryan already knew the answer; Colby hadn’t passed the message on.
