    Amoura hesitated for a moment before quickly exining, “You were quite anxious about this, so I kept pressing Colby for information. He eventually got annoyed and let it slip that he had ns with the woman from the Meyer family tonight. Iter confirmed with the Meyers that they’re going to the movies.”


    Upon hearing this, Javier dered, “Then ask him to meet me tomorrow at noon.”


    Amoura, unable to refuse, reluctantly agreed.


    Javier assumed Colby typically reserved his evenings for dates, so he rescheduled his midday appointment to amodate the meeting with him. He had originally scheduled a meeting with a CEO who was keen on partnering with the EB Group. The CEO wasn’t thrilled about thest-minute cancetion but, eager to avoid anyplications, decided to visit the EB Group that morning to finalize the contract.


    Eileen disyed no visible signs of pregnancy. Even in a simple ck knitted dress at the office, she didn’t seem pregnant. The absence of her usual formal attire made her seem more approachable and less intimidating.


    At the office, she assisted Raymond with various administrative tasks, such as preparing materials and organizing Bryan’s schedule.


    “Mr. Dawson,” the CEO said with a grin, “I truly envy you. Mrs. Dawson is not only a force to be reckoned with in the business world, but she’s also a fantastic wife.”


    Bryan smirked, yfully teasing Eileen. “You’re exaggerating.” He chuckled. “She’s in fact not talented in the kitchen.”


    Eileen was momentarily speechless.


    Her smile faltered, and she shot Bryan a re. Bryan, unconcerned about saving face, remained nonchnt. Eileen, meanwhile, continued organizing the contracts.

    “Please take a moment to review the contracts,” Bryan said to the CEO. “They were prepared rather hastily, so double-check for any errors.”


    “No worries at all,” the CEO said quickly. “Any mistakes are entirely my fault for showing up unannounced. I was originally scheduled to meet with Javier at noon, but when I realized it was about this project, I moved the meeting with you up. Mr. Dawson, you’ve already done me a huge favor by agreeing to meet me this time.”


    “Javier canceled on you?” Eileen asked, raising an eyebrow. “That’s not like him.”


    “He said he had to have lunch with his son to discuss something,” the CEO exined, skimming the contract before signing it. “He was very apologetic, but I was actually quite relieved.”


    Javier was meeting with Colby?


    Eileen’s eyes narrowed. “Where were you originally supposed to meet?” she asked casually.


    The CEO paused, trying to recall. “I believe it was at the Laitis Restaurant,” he replied.


    “I see,” Eileen said. She signaled Bryan and then slipped out of the room to call Raymond.


    “Raymond,” she instructed, “find out if Javier canceled his reservation at the Laitis Restaurant. If not, get me ess to the surveince footage of the room he booked.”


    It seemed her little stunt with the media had paid off. Javier was clearly worried about Colby’s situation and wanted to have a private conversation with him.


    She was curious to see how this imposter Colby could possibly fool Colby’s father. Or maybe she just wanted to see the look on the fake Colby’s face when his charade was finally exposed.
