    Eileen couldn’t shake the nagging curiosity. Why, of all times, had Colby chosen to disappear now?


    Her carefullyid n had to be put on pause. Instead of giving Colby the warning she intended, her priority had shifted—she needed to track him down first.


    “Search everywhere if you have to. Just find him, no matter what,” she ordered.


    Despite Raymond’s team searching around the clock with no pauses, Colby remained as elusive as ever.


    Meanwhile, whispers were spreading throughout high society that Amoura was on a mission to find Colby a suitable wife.


    Women who imed to have dated Colby only mentioned long phone conversations, but oddly, nothing ever progressed beyond talk, and they hadn’t even met Colby face-to-face.


    It was as if Colby had simply disappeared without a trace. Eileen’s curiosity was eating away at her, and staying indoors wasn’t helping. With the weather finally warming up, she decided it was the perfect time to get out and invited Phoebe to join her for a pic with the children.


    Theyid out a waterproof nket and filled it with snacks and drinks, settlingfortably on the ground as they watched Gabri and Phoebe’s son, Flynn Meyer, run around on the soft grass.


    Although Flynn was only a bit younger than Gabri, the gap felt bigger—he was still unsteady on his feet, wobbling with every step.


    “I just remembered something.” Phoebe’s brow furrowed as she spoke. “You remember Colby, the divorced guy from the Deleon family? Well, he’s been searching high and low for a wife. And guess what? They matched him with one of Jacob’s distant cousins. She’s from the next town over.”

    Eileen perked up at the mention of Colby. “So, have they met each other yet?”


    Phoebe shook her head. “Not yet. See, the Deleon family has this professional matchmaker, and she just happened to remember that Jacob had a distant connection…”


    “With that cousin. So she asked my mother-inw to step in. My mother-inw didn’t think it was anything serious, but to keep things polite, she let Jacob’s cousin and Colby exchange phone numbers. That cousin, though, already has someone she’s into, so she’s just ying along. Who knows if she’ll be able to dodge the pressure from her parents and avoid this?”


    “Do me a favor and ask her about this. If she’s really not interested, maybe… I could try talking to Colby for her instead,” Eileen said, the beginnings of an idea sparking in her mind.


    “You?” Phoebe shot her a look of disbelief. “Are you out of your mind? If Bryan catches wind of this, he’ll be furious!”


    Eileen gave an exaggerated eye roll. “I mean it. Colby’s gone. Aside from these women who im they spoke to him, there’s been no sign of him anywhere.”


    Phoebe’s yful demeanor faded, her face growing serious. “What the hell is going on? How does someone just disappear like that?”


    Eileen said, “To be specific, except for those women iming to have spoken with him over the phone, no one has actually seen Colby in person. Raymond’s men caught a glimpse of him walking into a bar a few days back, but strangely, they never saw him leave the bar. It’s as if he vanished into thin air, and there’s no sign of him at his house, either.”


    Even though it was the middle of the day, just talking about it made a cold shiver run down Eileen’s spine.
