Chapter 1323

    ?Chapter 1323:

The morning passed in a flurry of activity. As noon approached, Bryan finally left the house with Gabri and Eileen.

At the city center’s sprawling mall, they purchased bundles of Christmas goods and ingredients, arranging for delivery to their spacious ce in the eastern suburbs.

The housekeeping staff had already thoroughly cleaned the ce, preparing it for their imminent arrival. Though they had nned to move in the afternoon, Eileen’s phone suddenly buzzed with an unexpected call from the Dawson Mansion.

Jarred’s voice carried a note of urgency. “Mrs. Dawson, the Deleon family has arrived at the Dawson Mansion.”

“Are they there to visit Ste?” Eileen asked, recalling the longstanding good rtions between the Deleon family and the Dawson family.

Putting Amoura aside, it wasn’t entirely surprising that Javier, newly returned to the country, would seize the opportunity for a Christmas visit.

Jarred’s weary sigh crackled through the line. “I’m afraid their intentions aren’t good this time. Can youe over?”

Eileen’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Okay,” she replied, ending the call swiftly.

She delegated the packing duties to Ruby and two servants, then hurried to the Dawson Mansion with Bryan.

Bryan navigated the streets with practiced skill, and after a tense twenty-minute drive, the car pulled up to the entrance of the Dawson Mansion.

Javier’s familiar car stood parked outside. Through the mansion’s floor-to-ceiling windows, Eileen caught a glimpse of Amoura sitting in the living room.

Amoura’s lips curved into a smile, revealing her excitement and satisfaction, especially noticeable since Javier was not present in the living room.

Eileen and Bryan strolled into the courtyard, where they spotted Javier doing something in the garden. Eileen exchanged a nce with Bryan, who nodded in understanding.

They parted ways—Bryan heading to the garden while Eileen went into the vi.

Jarred had already opened the vi door. Eileen quietly slipped inside, softening her footsteps as she entered through the already open door.

Eileen overheard Amoura’s pointed remark. “Consider all you’ve lost. Your own grandson and granddaughter-inw aren’t even concerned about you. They’re taking you to spend Christmas in a small ce with people who aren’t even rted to you. Don’t you find that awkward?” Her words were met with silence.

Ste savored her coffee, her eyes cast downward, veiling her emotions.

Amoura continued, “The matter of them spending time with Eileen’s stepmother on regr days is one thing, but during Christmas? They ought to be here, surrounding you with love. If it gets out that you have to go somewhere else with them, a lot of people will think you’re pitiful.”

“Mrs. Deleon, despite the scandal of Colby’s divorce tarnishing the Deleon family’s name, you still have the energy to meddle in other people’s affairs.” Eileen entered the living room, arms crossed, standing face-to-face with Amoura. “You’re right, but that’s riching from you, considering Colby doesn’t even call you ‘Mom.’ What’s your true motive for this visit? Trying to cozy up to Bryan’s grandmother?”

Amoura was caught off guard by Eileen’s sudden appearance, and her expression briefly faltered. Recovering quickly, she countered, “I’m simply saying the truth. The Dawson Mansion represents the Dawson family’s stature. Is it not demeaning to have Bryan’s grandmother stay in that small ce just to amodate your family? Do you have any decency left?”
