Chapter 1311

    ?Chapter 1311:

While ying with her dolls, Gabri had said, “My Daddy only loves Mommy, not me…”

Initially, Le had assumed it was just yful imagination, but as it continued, she started to pay more attention.

“I think it’s time we join a prenatal care ss,” Bryan proposed. “We need to prepare for the new baby and find better ways to interact with Gabri.” He believed he got along well with Gabri, yet with another child on the way, his anxiety was mounting. He had also picked up on a change in Gabri’s behavior toward him.

“Alright,” Eileen responded, thinking it was indeed time to enroll in a prenatal care ss. She was determined not to overlook Gabri’s needs.

In the afternoon, before Eileen left, Ste had made sure she signed several documents and gave her the rest to sign at her convenience. Ste had been visibly delighted.

The following morning, Eileen and Bryan visited a prenatal center to select courses designed for families expecting their second child. Some courses were avable online, while others needed to be attended in person.

Eileen was limited to reading books in her room and applying the techniques suggested by the instructors to better connect with Gabri. Because of her efforts, Gabri…

Visibly cheered up, Gabri would often happily run up the stairs to Eileen’s room to y with her like old times. When Gabri visited, Eileen would spend time with her, and once she left, Eileen would return to her studies.

Then, one day, Eileen couldn’t locate the book she frequently read. She faintly recalled hearing the sound of pages flipping while she had been half-asleep and Gabri hade to her room.

She hurried downstairs and found Ruby sitting on the couch with the book. At the sound of footsteps, Ruby looked up, hesitated briefly, and then frowned. “Why the rush?” Ruby said, standing and offering the book to Eileen. “Were you looking for this?”

“Yes,” Eileen answered, epting the book. “Mom…”

“How long have you been pregnant?” Ruby inquired.

After counting the days, Eileen responded, “Just over two months. I hadn’t mentioned it before because the pregnancy wasn’t stable, and I was on medication to keep the baby. I didn’t want to raise anyone’s hopes prematurely.”

Ruby smiled, guided Eileen to sit on the couch, and poured her a ss of milk. “From now on, drink a ss of milk every afternoon after your nap. It’s good for the baby. And try not to run around too much. The weather’s turning, and there’s a severe snowstorm on the way. I felt you didn’t take good care of yourself after Gabri was born. This time, we need to ensure you’re well-nourished. You’ve been having back pain…”

She continued to speak, unable to stop herself.

Noticing a flicker of unusual emotion in Ruby’s eyes, Eileen averted her gaze and let out a quiet sigh.

“This is good news. You shouldn’t keep such things to yourself. Bailee hasn’t been able to conceive, and that’s just her situation. You shouldn’t let that dampen your joy. So… Eileen, don’t dwell on it too much. Don’t keep secrets like this in the future.” Ruby quickly saw through Eileen. She knew the ims about the fetus being unstable and not wanting to get anyone’s hopes up were just excuses.

She continued, “I do feelpassion for Bailee, and I’m sad for her, but we should still celebrate your good news. All we can do for Bailee is hope her dreams are fulfilled someday.”
