?Chapter 1309:
Ruby came back with a pile ofundry and overheard Eileen’s words. She realized Le had gotten the wrong idea. “Don’t worry,” she said, walking over. “I’ve seen how much Eileen and Bryan love each other. Bryan would never cheat on Eileen. Eileen’s right. You’ll see for yourself soon enough.”
Le wanted to say something but then thought better of it, steering clear of the topic of Eileen’s pregnancy.
“Mom, why don’t you take my grandmother out for some fresh airter? I’ll take Gabri and Bryan back to the Dawson Mansion,” Eileen suggested, eyeing the hefty pile of paperwork. “We need to deal with this sooner rather thanter.”
She had a hunch that Ste’s sudden mood swing had something to do with the whole Deleon family mess. Even though it wasn’t the weekend, Eileen and her family headed to the Dawson Mansion after breakfast.
Ste had already gotten wind of the news. She was surprised to see Eileen and Bryan show up unannounced. “What brings you two here? I saw the news… Eileen, it’s all a misunderstanding, right? You have to trust Bryan!” Ste’s eyes were filled with worry as she watched Eileen approach.
“I do trust him,” Eileen said calmly, pulling out the stack of documents from her bag. Ste’s face fell when she saw that.
“If you believe him, why won’t you sign these?” Ste flipped through the papers, realizing they were unsigned. She panicked. “I’ll get a pen for you now!”
Eileen gently guided Ste back onto the sofa. “Hold on a second. Can you tell me why you’re so insistent on me signing these all of a sudden?”
Let your imagination soar with gα?ησν????s.?ο??
Ste’s throat felt dry, and she hesitated. Her eyes drifted to Bryan, who was ying with Gabri on the slide by the window. “It’s just… all this will be yours eventually. I’m getting old, and I don’t want to deal with it anymore. I want to give it to you now.”
Eileen didn’t believe her. She narrowed her eyes. “Let me guess, this has something to do with the Deleon family, doesn’t it? What did Amoura and Presley say to you when they visited youst time?”
Ste sighed. “I try not to interfere in your lives, but this… this affects the Dawson family’s name. I know you’ve been hurt, Eileen, and I can’t undo that. But I can offer you this aspensation. Bryan knows he messed up. Please, give him another chance. The future of the Dawson family rests in your hands.”
She wanted to transfer all of the Dawson family’s assets to Eileen. Bryan would own half of them because he and Eileen were married. Ste was ying the long game, hoping these assets would sway Eileen and keep her from leaving Bryan over the incident this time. More than anything, she wanted to avoid a scandal. The Dawson family’s reputation had to be protected at all costs.
Eileen’s voice was sharp. “So, you’re scared Bryan and I will split up over Presley, and you’re trying to buy me off with all this, hoping I’ll just forget his little ‘mistake’?”
It all clicked into ce for Eileen, leaving her withplicated emotions.
Of course, Ste’s priority was always the Dawson family’s image. Eileen should have known this.
Eileen continued, “You’ve got it all wrong. There’s nothing between Bryan and Presley. Bryan didn’t cheat on me.”
“He didn’t cheat on you?” Ste’s voice rose in disbelief. She looked at Bryan and then at Jarred, pletely bewildered. She believed Amoura had been so convincing with her story, and she had seen Bryan bending over backward to please Eileentely.
