Chapter 1299

    ?Chapter 1299:

Presley stared at Eileen’s back as she walked away, her heart burning with jealousy and resentment.

At that moment, a nurse rushed out holding a slip of paper. “Mrs. Dawson… Where did she go?”

“Are you looking for Eileen?” Presley quickly adjusted her demeanor and stepped forward.

The nurse nodded, saying, “She left a page of her prescription. Do you know her? Did you happen to see which way she went?”

Presley took the paper from the nurse’s hand with a smile. “Yes, I know her well. I’ll make sure she gets it.” The prescription was for some medicine for Eileen’s pregnancy, and the pharmacy had already prepared the medicine, waiting for someone toe and pick it up.

Holding the prescription tightly, Presley hurried over to the doctor’s office. “Could you prescribe some medicine for me…”

About ten minutester, after Eileen had picked up her medication, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.

The doctor had instructed her to take pregnancy supplements and folic acid for ten days before continuing her monthly visits to the hospital. However, she had only gotten the prescription for the folic acid. So, all she had received was one bottle of folic acid.

“Did I only give you the prescription for the folic acid?” Eileen asked the pharmacist.

    “Yes,” the pharmacist replied.

Eileen, remembering she had forgotten something, turned on her heel and headed back toward the doctor’s office.

Just as she entered the elevator, a young nurse hurried over to stop her.

“Excuse me, are you Eileen Dawson?” the nurse asked, slightly out of breath.

“Yes, that’s me,” Eileen replied, eyeing the bottle of pills in the nurse’s hand with curiosity. “And you are…”

The nurse shed a friendly smile and handed her a receipt and the bottle of pills. “Your doctor noticed you left this behind and asked me to catch you. I picked up the medicine for you, so you wouldn’t have to wait in line again.”

Eileen looked down at the small, ubeled white bottle. The name of the medicine on the receipt was smudged, but she could make out enough to recognize it as the same medication she had been taking to prevent risks.

Stepping out of the elevator, Eileen said, “Thank you.”

“You’re wee,” the nurse replied before rushing off to her duties.

Just as Eileen was about to take a closer look at the meds, her phone rang. It was Ruby calling her. She quickly shoved the medicine and receipt into her pocket and answered the call.

“Mom… I’m on my way. Wait for me.”

Ruby had already gotten Gabri vinated. Even with toys and snacks to distract her, Gabri had dozed off. The vination area was freezing cold, and Ruby was worried that Gabri would catch a cold.

Eileen pulled up to the entrance, cranking up the heater. Then, Ruby took Gabri to the car and got inside herself. Eileen quickly started the car.
