?Chapter 1271:
If Eileen weren’t pregnant, he would have taken her along.
Eileen felt a bit bored being stuck at home, but the idea of going out to pick up a man at the airport early in the morning didn’t appeal to her. “Alright then. You handle it, and I’ll wait at home to hear the good news.”
The next morning, the airport was quiet in the early hours. Bryan draped his ck suit jacket over his arm, his crisp white shirt sleeves rolled up, and checked his watch. Two minutes passed before a man with a beard emerged from the gate, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed sses. A bodyguard followed closely behind him, carrying two suitcases.
“Mr. Deleon,” Bryan greeted with a polite nod, extending his hand.
Javier studied Bryan for a few seconds before smiling and shaking his hand. “Bryan, it’s hard to believe you’ve grown up now. I used to hold you as a baby.”
The once-close rtionship between the Dawson family and the Deleon family had started to fray when Javier’s father moved overseas. However, when Javier had been younger, he visited the Dawson family every year. Bryan had been too young at that time, so he didn’t remember any of it.
“In the blink of an eye, you’ve grown, and I’ve aged.” Javier signaled to his bodyguard, who swiftly left with the luggage.
“Let’s get you to the hotel so you can rest,” Bryan said with respect. “I want to talk to you about something on the way.”
Javier had returned to the country at Bryan’s request, so he readily agreed.
They soon got inside the car, and Bryan started the engine. Despite the open road and sparse traffic, Bryan didn’t drive fast.

“Mr. Deleon, how did you meet your current wife?” Bryan asked.
“At a party abroad,” Javier replied. “She danced to a song that myte wife loved.” Javier’s expression softened at the mention of Amoura. Despite his age, his once-cloudy eyes were now filled with deep affection.
Bryan couldn’t help but frown. “I’ve always known that yourte wife was private, and the simrities between her and Amoura are striking. Don’t you find that unsettling?”
Javier paused for a moment before replying, “I see your point, but at my stage in life, priorities shift. I’ve chosen to let it slide.”
In other words, as long as Amoura’s intentions weren’t too malicious, Javier was willing to turn a blind eye to her reasons for marrying him.
Bryan said calmly, “I know your tolerance has its limits. If there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know.” If nothing were amiss, Javier wouldn’t have returned so suddenly. Clearly, Bryan couldn’t let Amoura do whatever she wanted.
Javier chuckled as he said, “You’re a far cry from your father, Bryan. I have helped him a lot overseas, yet he has never once shown gratitude. You, on the other hand, are respectful.”
“I contacted you to give you a heads-up. If your wife continues like this, I won’t show mercy.” Bryan’s gaze was firm as he spoke.
Unfazed, Javier nodded. “Alright. I’ll find out what has been going on and get back to you soon.” With that, their conversation was over.
Bryan mmed his foot down on the elerator, sending the car surging forward, prompting Javier to grasp the handle instinctively.
