Chapter 1250

    Chapter 1250:

Eileen frowned, sensing something amiss. “Where did you see that man?” she asked.

“I saw the man on the west side of the city,” Bailee said. She noticed the shadow that crossed Eileen’s face and softened her voice. “Hey, what’s wrong?”

That part of the city was bustling with all kinds of people. Eileen paused for a moment, then shook her head. “It’s nothing. Just curious.”

“Milford is a good kid. Maybe he didn’t want to be a burden, so he went back to Wist Land with his family. Such a shame, though. He was doing so well in school…” Ruby’s heart ached at the mention of Milford.

Le was clueless about Milford, so Ruby filled her in while putting away Gabri’s toys.

“The poor kid got into some trouble,” Ruby exined. “Eileen helped him get back on track and even tutored him so that he could go back to school. He was so bright; he skipped grades and got into college early…”

Eileen got up and headed to the kitchen to prepare some fruit, with Bailee trailing behind her, chattering away.

Returning with a bowl of fruit, Eileen spotted Bryan on the second-floornding, a dark expression on his face as he spoke on the phone. He caught Eileen’s gaze and raised an eyebrow yfully, his face softening. Ten minutester, Bryan descended the stairs. “Something’se up at thepany. I need to go there now.”

“Alright,” Eileen replied, following him to the door. She straightened his shirt cor as he put on his coat. “Is it a work thing? Why didn’t Raymond inform me about it?” It had only been that morning at the hospital that she had decided to step back from the business.

However, Raymond had gone straight to Bryan, clearly intending to bypass herpletely.

Bryan gently caught her wrist, leaned down, and ced a soft kiss on her cheek. “Hey,” he said, his voice warm and reassuring. “I’ve already told him to bring all the work reports to me at the hospital. You need to focus on taking care of yourself and the baby inside you.”

Eileen pulled her hand away, a blush creeping up her ears as she nced towards the living room. “Okay, you can leave now.”

She turned and headed back into the living room. Thankfully, the group was engrossed in ying with Gabri, oblivious to her brief interaction with Bryan.

Over the next few days, Eileen stayed home. Bryan, on the other hand, was swamped. He was out the door the moment he woke up and rarely made it back in time for dinner.

One night, Eileen was drifting off to sleep when Bryan finally slipped into bed beside her. Half-asleep, she mumbled, “Is everything okay at work?”

“Thepany took on a bunch of new projects recently, and I have been very busy because of it,” Bryan replied. He leaned over and gave her another gentle kiss on the cheek before pulling her close. “Go back to sleep. If I get homete again, I’ll just crash in the study so that I won’t wake you.”

Eileen snuggled into his embrace, her arms wrapping around his waist.

She had a nagging feeling that something else was going on, but Bryan clearly didn’t want to burden her with it. She decided to trust him and focus on enjoying her peaceful, worry-free life for now.

A weekter, Eileen went back to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor told her that while her test results were within the normal range, they were still a bit low. He rmended another round of medication.

After getting her prescription filled, Eileen returned to the parking lot and grabbed a couple of boxes of tonics from her trunk. She wanted to visit Dalores.
