Chapter 1224

    ?Chapter 1224:

Presley stood there, gazing at the door, lost in thought.

    Eileen found herself grounded.

It had been several days since shest spent time with Gabri, as she had been preupied with causing trouble for the Deleon Group. Deep down, she knew that Bryan had used that as an excuse. He grounded her because she hadn’t spent enough time with him.

However, given how busy she had beentely, Eileen felt uneasy about her actions and decided to stay at home, acknowledging her fault.

After all, she had just snatched a project from the Deleon Group, leaving Amoura humiliated. Now, she was simply waiting to see what move the Deleon Group would make next.

“The weather’s turning cold. It’s time we get Gabri some warmer clothes,” Ruby said as she put away Gabri’s things. She added, “Since you’re stuck at home with nothing pressing, we can also spend some time showing your grandmother around the city.”

Le hadn’t really ventured out much since arriving in Onnd.

The air was chilly, but the sunshine was warm.

With the temperature here being much warmer than back in Alverton, Le wasn’t bothered by the cold. With that in mind, Eileen decided they would head to the local shopping mall.

As she headed upstairs to change, Bryan emerged from the study with a document in hand. She nced over and asked casually, “Heading out somewhere?”

“No, Raymond’sing to pick it up,” Bryan replied, giving her a once-over. Seeing his wife during the day was rare, so he had no ns of leaving the house.

Eileen quickly sensed something was off. She said, “Raymond’s got enough on his te. Don’t trouble him—why not drop it off yourself?”

“No,” Bryan said, his voice firm as he ced hisrge hand on her waist and gently nudged her toward the bedroom. Eileen sped up, putting some distance between them as she darted into the dressing room. “I’m taking my mom and grandma out for a bit. We’re going to shop for some new clothes for Gabri.”

So, it didn’t really matter if Raymond came to get the document or not. She couldn’t be by Bryan’s side anyway.

Though Bryan’s expression darkened, he just said, “Don’t walk around too much, or your legs might get weak.”

“Alright,” Eileen replied, though she had a feeling that her legs would indeed feel weakter, but it wouldn’t be from walking.

She hurriedly finished changing and, as she walked toward the door, found Bryan leaning against the wall near it, watching her with a look of dissatisfaction.

She stood on her tiptoes and nted a kiss on his cheek. “I’ll be back soon, I promise.”

Bryan’s expression rxed a little. He then watched her leave with a smile.

Le rarely visited downtown, even when she had been living in Alverton.

Le nced out of the car window, asionally letting out soft sighs. “This ce is so developed, and it’s absolutely beautiful,” she remarked.

“I’ll make sure to take you out more often when I have time,” Eileen said, feeling a twinge of guilt as she caught a glimpse of Le’s beaming face through the rearview mirror.
