Chapter 1147

    ?Chapter 1147:

Although Eileen had no desire for the reheated breakfast, she forced herself to eat it. She looked out the window at Gabri ying with Le and Ruby, her eyes softening with affection. At the Baker family’s residence, it was growingte when Bailee returned from the educational institution. Upon entering the house, she noticed Winona seated on the sofa.

She removed her shoes, hung up her bag, and said, “What would you like for dinner? I’ll cook it for you.”

“I don’t want anything you cook,” Winona replied coldly. “Sit at the table where I eat. You make me lose my appetite.”

Bailee had just slipped into her slippers and taken a few steps forward when she paused. She stared at Winona and said, “Don’t worry. You won’t be seeing much of me soon.”

This type of exchange was nearly a daily urrence at the Baker family’s home. Although Huey was often tied up with work, he found himself reluctant to return home even when he was free. Witnessing Winona’s harsh treatment of Bailee always sparked his anger, leading to arguments.

Huey wasn’t the only one fed up with this situation; Bailee was also at her limit.

Winona stood up and demanded, “What did you mean by that? Are you nning to move out with my son and never return?”

“No,” Bailee responded calmly as she poured herself a ss of water. “I’ll be moving out alone.”

“Are you trying to drive a wedge between my son and me? If Huey finds out how you’re treated, he’ll sh with me again…” Winona said.

When Huey lost his temper, he was capable of drastic actions. Winona harbored some fear of her son’s reactions.

In Bailee’s view, Winona was treating her like this because she believed she was an easy target and knew her preference for peaceful resolutions.

“If I tell you I’m not trying to drive a wedge between you, would you believe me? If not, there’s no point in exining.” After saying that, Bailee turned to leave.

Winona asked, “What did you mean by what you said then? You’re going to divorce Huey. You don’t like me, right? You’re getting what you want now.”

Bailee retrieved a divorce agreement from her bag. It was indeed real, with Huey’s signature already on thest page. There were no property disputes mentioned, and the terms of the divorce were clearly stated in the document.

“That’s the case, you can pack your things and leave now. I’ll talk to Huey about this,” Winona said, pulling the document away and asserting firmly. “But let me be clear. I didn’t force this divorce on you…”

Winona hadn’t forced her? Bailee listened without a word, wearing a bitter smile.

Winona had explicitly opposed Huey’s rtionship with Bailee before she had fallen into aa. However, Huey and Bailee had gotten married without her permission, which was why she now disliked Bailee so much.

Despite acknowledging Bailee’spetence and good nature, she felt her initial impression of Bailee remained unfavorable, preventing her from liking her.

Bailee simply turned and went upstairs to gather a few belongings before driving off. She didn’t dare go to Eileen’s ce. It was already eight o’clock in the evening, and she assumed Eileen and her family had finished dinner and gone to bed.
