Chapter 1118

    ?Chapter 1118:

Eileen was firm in her stance.

She knew that if she yielded today, Marisa might try to ask her to convince Bryan to drop the matter about Dalores.

As the tension mounted, Marisa’s gaze turned icy. Eventually, she averted her eyes.

She said, “It appears I am outdated, and the future belongs to the younger folks. Perhaps I shouldn’t meddle too much.”

With a distant smile, she continued, “I came here for you, but the items are actually for Ms. Sampson. Please give them to her. I’ll be on my way now.”

Eileen epted the gifts, expressing her gratitude on behalf of Dalores and Emerson. “Thank you for these, but really, you needn’t go out of your way like this next time.”

Marisa nodded before turning to leave.

Later in the afternoon, news broke that Marisa had been dismissed from her position.

Around the same time, Eileen received an unexpected call from Keith.

It had been a while since theirstmunication. After a brief and somewhat awkward exchange, Eileen attempted to end the call politely.

“Mr. Aston, take care. I’ll visit you after I wrap up my work,” she said.

Keith responded, “I’m not seriously hurt, but things are chaotic with the Aston family right now. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”

“It’s no trouble at all,” Eileen reassured him, smiling. “Just make sure to look after yourself.”

Keith suddenly asked, “Are you nning to take legal action against her for her role in abducting you?” He was referring to Kam.

Eileen inquired, “Do you think I should pursue legal action against her?”

It seemed Keith hadn’t expected such a question from her. After a pause, he replied, “That decision is yours to make.”

“Would you offer any advice on that?” Eileen asked.

    Keith suddenly fell silent.

After a while, Keith said, “She made a mistake, and she should face the consequences. Act as you see fit; no need to do anything for my sake.”

    “Understood, thank you,” Eileen responded.

Keith said, “Your mother has been in the ancestral tomb for a month, hasn’t she? Remember, Alverton customs require that the tomb be cleansed after a month.” With that, he hung up.

Eileen had been discussing the matter of Dottie’s tomb with Le when she received the call from Keith.

After the call ended, she was just about to put her phone away when it rang again.

This call was from the Alverton police station, informing her that Mon San, before her death, had submitted crucial evidence rted to Dottie’s case. They urged Eileen to visit the station soon to review the details.

“Sorry, my schedule is packed these days,” Eileen replied.
