Chapter 1108

    ?Chapter 1108:

But what Eileen hadn’t anticipated was Julio arriving at the police station ahead of her.

Since Dolores had been hiding from him, Julio had already informed the police to notify him if anything rted to Dolores happened. Therefore, as soon as Dolores was taken to the police station, he received the news.

As Eileen spotted Julio at the gate of the police station, she felt a knot form in her stomach.

“How dare you im you didn’t know where she was?” Julio’s usatory tone wasced with anger, his eyes zing with intensity. “What was she thinking? What did she do to get herself into this mess?” Upon learning from the police that Dolores was suspected of child trafficking, Julio was furious.

Eileen’s calm demeanor contrasted with Julio’s fury. “Now that you’re here, you can ask her yourself,” she said.

Although Julio was here, Eileen couldn’t leave. As soon as she entered the police station and mentioned Dolores’ name, an officer pointed her toward a room.

Eileen and the others approached the room, and before they could enter, they heard Emerson crying. Upon opening the door, they found a group of people attempting to soothe Emerson with a feeding bottle, but his cries only grew louder.

“Emerson!” Eileen called out. As Emerson heard her voice, his tears ceased. He stretched out his tiny arms, reaching for her.

“Are you the baby’s parents?” a police officer asked, cradling Emerson in his arms as he approached Eileen.

Gently taking Emerson from the officer, Eileenforted him with soothing words and offered him the feeding bottle, which he eagerly epted, gulping down the milk. Though his tears had stopped, his red, puffy eyes and asional groans betrayed his distress.

Eileen began to exin, “We’re not his parents.” She stopped herself from saying more, suddenly remembering Julio’s presence beside her.

“There must be some mistake. Dolores can’t be involved in child trafficking. Please, take me to see her,” Julio urged, his focus solely on clearing Dolores’ name.

As he entered the room, his gaze fell upon the baby, and a peculiar sensation washed over him. He felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity. However, he didn’t dwell on it, his mind preupied with seeing Dolores.

“Do you know Dolores Sampson? What’s your rtionship with her?” A police officer came over with a register book.

Within moments of Juliopleting the registration, Dolores was brought out. Her eyes darted around frantically until they locked on to Emerson, nestled in Eileen’s arms. She lunged forward, only to be halted by Julio’s firm grip on her wrist.

“Dolores, what’s going on here?” Julio’s voice wasced with concern. “Where did this childe from?”

A police officer nearby frowned, his voice stern. “You better get her to talk straight; the child’s family is probably out of their minds with worry.”

Emerson was asleep in Eileen’s arms, unaware of Dolores’ presence.

Bryan, ever thoughtful, draped his jacket over the boy’s small frame as Eileen sought a quiet corner. The pallor and icy hand that betrayed his recent illness caused concern, but Bryan guided Eileen to a chair, offering a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder. “Let Julio handle this. I’ll step out for a bit.”
