Chapter 1102

    ?Chapter 1102:

While the officer spoke, Kam’s gaze remained fixed on Eileen. When Kam saw Eileen’s calm look, her emotions began to rise.

“If I had known you were Keith’s daughter at your birth, I would have divorced him! Then, I wouldn’t have spent my life in such folly! My poor son and daughter have endured so much,” Kam muttered these words through clenched teeth.

“Come with us.” Before Kam could finish speaking, the officers took her by the arms and led her away.

As the police guided her down the corridor, Kam spotted Tilda running toward her after hearing the news. “Mom!”

Kam wanted to say something but eventually said nothing. She straightened her back, turned around, and left.

Though it was only temporary imprisonment, the implications felt definitive.

As Kam was escorted away, Tilda’s concern peaked, and she hurried to confront Eileen. “You promised we wouldn’t meddle in each other’s affairs, remember?”

Eileen, watching Kam’s retreating figure, replied, “When have I ever meddled in your matters? It’s clear Kam is the one who has been pestering me.”

“Nonsense!” Harrell eximed, his anger palpable as he approached them. “You set my mother up! You’re responsible for my—”

Tilda grabbed Harrell’s arm, trying to calm him. “Hold on, let’s think this through. Something isn’t right here.”

Harrell wrenched his arm free, his voice raised in frustration. “What’s to think about? You think you’re above us all, huh? Eileen has deceived you! If you had supported Mom and Jaliyah before, none of this would have happened!”

He lunged forward again but paused abruptly upon noticing Bryan standing protectively beside Eileen.

“This isn’t over,” Harrell said. “I’m going to my father. He’ll see you for what you really are!”

With those words, Harrell spun around and ran off.

“Go check with the police; see what’s happening,” Eileen said to Bryan.

Bryan nodded, casting a brief nce at Tilda, who was standing at the bottom of the stairs, and then made his way back to the station.

Eileen descended the stairs slowly, approaching Tilda. Before she could speak, Tilda blurted out, “My mother can’t be the murderer!”

“I don’t believe that,” Eileen responded calmly. Even though she found Kam’s arrogance and stubbornness grating, she never considered her malevolent. To Eileen, Kam could be difficult, but she was not evil.

Relief flickered in Tilda’s eyes. “Really? You think so, too? I also believe you can’t be that cruel. It feels like someone is pulling the strings here.”

“Tell me more about your family,” Eileen said, guiding Tilda to a quieter corner.

Tilda replied, “I spent much of my childhood abroad. Mom would join me for a few months each year. I rarely saw Dad, but we stayed connected by phone. He was always kind and wise—my go-to whenever I faced problems, always ready withfort and advice. The only strain in our rtionshipes from the fact that he doesn’t allow me to date anyone. When he discovered my secret boyfriend, he insisted I return home to marry my current husband.”

Tilda, when speaking of the Aston family, admitted her knowledge of her family was limited due to not growing up at home. She continued, “After my mother realized you were my father’s daughter, she feared you might im our family’s wealth. She didn’t want the illegitimate daughter to thrive and wanted to push you into backing off. She wasn’t trying to excuse Kam’s behavior; she just wanted to exin that Kam aimed to make you leave.”
