?Chapter 1082:
Conroy had admitted his crimespletely, even without needing a court session. But now, she found herself tangled in the matters of the Aston family, which was thest thing she wanted to be involved with.
“The guy working with Christos is the one behind all this,” Bryan said after thinking it through. “He clearly wants you to leave Alverton.”
Eileen tilted her head, blinking in confusion. “Wait, someone actually doesn’t want me to leave Alverton? Is he an enemy of the Aston family? Does he want to use me to go against them?”
Sure, it made sense that someone might want her to leave quickly to take over the group. But she couldn’t think of anyone who wanted her to stay in Alverton.
Eileen ran her fingers through her long hair, frowning. She released Bryan and turned to herptop to vent her frustrations to Phoebe.
“There are always some troublesome people trying to make things difficult for you. Your return date is looking uncertain,” Phoebe said.
“Milford is set to be released from prison. I need to get back before that happens,” Eileen sighed, feeling the weight of the situation.
“I heard about that. There’s still some time before he’s out, right? Make sure you hurry. If you can’t make it back in time, we are still here for him,” Phoebe said. Eileen had mentioned Milford’s release to her a few days ago.
Bailee had been prepared, setting up a room for Milford at her ce and eagerly awaiting his return.
“But Jacob went to the prison a few days ago for some business. He talked to Milford, who mentioned that his release had been postponed for a week. You don’t need to rush back,” Phoebe added.

Eileen frowned. “Really? How can they dy it? It’s already been scheduled.”
“It happens sometimes. Prisons have their own rules, and dates can get changed,” Phoebe said. Then, with a frustrated tone, she added, “My son is crying. I have to hang up now.”
After ending the call, Eileen got up, freshened up, and headed out.
Gabri and Le were sitting patiently, waiting for Eileen. They had intentionally chosen to stay there, making sure not to disturb Eileen’s much-needed rest.
“Mommy!” Gabri eximed as soon as she saw Eileen. She ran over with her little arms outstretched, wrapping them around Eileen’s thighs. “Great Grandma and I have been waiting for you!”
The sight of her daughter’s pouty face melted Eileen’s heart. She bent down, scooped Gabri up into her arms, and yfully pinched her nose. “It’s all Mommy’s fault. I promise I won’t sleep in anymore. From now on, I’ll get up early every day to spend time with you.”
“Yay!” Gabri cheered, her face lighting up with happiness. She wrapped her tiny arms around Eileen’s neck and nted a kiss on her cheek.
Then, excited to y, she wriggled out of Eileen’s arms and dashed off, ughing and giggling as she ran around.
Eileen sat down beside Le. “Grandma, does the Aston family have any enemies?”
“No,” Le replied firmly. “A few years ago, the Aston family went through a rough patch and endured a lot. But once Keith took over, with the strong backing of his wife’s family, he managed to stabilize things quickly. His family regained their footing, although his wife’s family started to decline. Keith did everything he could to support them, and he earned a good reputation for it. He’s not one to hold grudges, either. Even those who took advantage of the Aston family’s struggles are now working with them in some way. Keith is known as a genuinely good person.”
