    Kam was left momentarily speechless. After a pause, she hastily retorted, “You’re overthinking this; it was Eileen who approached me first.”


    “Why did shee to you first?” Keith questioned. “Eileen has issues with you. Why would she do that?”


    Kam seethed with rage and couldn’t manage to keep her cool. “Regardless of who approached whom first, the fact remains that Eileen is responsible for Jaliyah’s miscarriage!”


    “Then you can look for evidence, as long as you can find it.” With that, Keith walked past her and went upstairs.


    A sharp retort was poised on the edge of her lips, but the words caught in her throat as she grasped the full weight of Keith’s statement.


    As she stood there in a trance-like state, Keith’s figure vanished from view around the corner of the second floor. It wasn’t until then that she snapped back to reality, frowning.


    Although the anticipated argument didn’t happen, Kam’s unease lingered, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.


    However, the issue regarding Jaliyah remained unresolved. The Diaz family was indeed demanding answers. For Kam, the fact that Keith hadn’t argued with her now was a good thing.


    Kam swiftly punched in a number on her phone. “Is the restaurant ready?”


    As soon as Le opened her eyes, a servant notified her of Keith’s presence earlier, and she quickly went to Eileen.

    “It won’t be long before he starts to investigate this.” Le let out a sigh. “Back then, your mother was worried that he might get suspicious, so we dyed announcing your birth for two years and kept you hidden away, iming your mother was still recovering from childbirth.”


    Naturally, the birth date listed on Eileen’s birth certificate had been adjusted to match the publicly announced one. As a result, even if Keith decided to investigate, he would only be able to discover the fabricated birth date.


    “My mother really thought of everything,” Eileen said after a while.


    The fact that her mother had dyed the announced birth date meant that Keith had never had any reason to suspect her real identity.


    With a frown, Le said, “Your mother made me promise before she passed away that we would never reveal your true identity to Keith, regardless of whether we found you or not. So, we can’t let Keith discover who you really are until absolutely necessary.”


    “So, even when I was lost, my mother still didn’t want to tell him about my identity to let him help find me?” Eileen asked, a frown on her face.


    Despite being frantic with worry and nearing death, Dottie still wouldn’t disclose her daughter’s real identity to Keith. How deep was her love for Keith?
