?Chapter 897:
Before Eileen could respond, Bryan swiftly ced his hand over Gabri’s mouth, tossed the girl into Eileen’s arms, and then scooped them both up, carrying them back to his room.
Exhausted from the day’s events, Eileencked the energy to argue with Bryan. She freshened up, then climbed into bed, cradling Gabri in her arms.
Despite her exhaustion, Eileen’s concerns lingered, and she said to Bryan, “Be good. You need to reflect on yourself and learn from your mistakes, okay?”
“Got it.” Bryan nodded without hesitation.
Bryan’s prompt agreement was unusual, and Eileen suspected that he was afraid, especially since she had given him the silent treatment for several days. She turned around and cuddled Gabri to go to sleep.
While she was asleep, Eileen sensed something grasping her ankle, and in an instant, a heavy pressure pinned her down. Groggily, she woke up. She ced her hands on Bryan’s chest and gazed into his eyes, which were narrowed with a hint of longing. The intense desire in his eyes made her realize that he had been craving this moment for a long time.
“Didn’t you say you would reflect on yourself and learn from your mistakes? What are you trying to do now?” Eileen asked.
“Don’t you think that punishment is too lenient, just having me reflect on myself? Let me kneel.” Bryan leaned down and kissed her forehead and the corners of her eyes.
The touch of her resistance was like a cat’s gentle w, grazing his chest, and his breathing swiftly became deep and ragged.
He was the one receiving the punishment, but she was the one with a sore body. This felt so unfair!

Bryan worried that Eileen would be exhausted and angry, so he restrained himself after midnight and allowed her to rest.
At the crack of dawn, Bryan gently scooped up the still-sleeping Eileen and Gabri from the bed and took them to the car, heading straight to the city.
On the way, Eileen woke up to find a warm breakfast tightly wrapped in a bag in her hands. Gabri was in the child seat, already awake and happily munching on the candy Bryan had prepared for her.
Ignoring Bryan, Eileen pulled out her phone and started tackling a multitude of tasks. She had been too preupied yesterday to respond. Dalores had sent a text to inform her that Emerson’s test results confirmed he was suffering from leukemia.
Dalores had had her bone marrow tested to see if it would be a match for Emerson’s transnt needs.
After spending some time consoling Dalores, Eileen decided to visit the hospital at ater time. The most recent message was sent by Lenny. Apparently, the VQ Group was in chaos, floundering without its leader at the helm.
Without warning, Conroy had arrived at VQ Group early this morning and called an emergency meeting with top executives. Now, everyone in thepany was panicking, with rumors flying around that thepany was on the brink of bankruptcy.
“How long till we arrive at thepany?” Eileen’s voice was hoarse, and she cleared her throat.
Bryan looked at his watch and replied, “At least an hour.”
