Chapter 889

    ?Chapter 889:

“That’s because I had Bryan’s backing,” Eileen admitted. She had to acknowledge that without Bryan, she wouldn’t have been able to be the CEO of EB Group. Without him, her greatest achievement would have been establishing educational organizations across the country.

“To EB Group, that’s nothing,” Le said. “If Bryan backed someone else, they would probably screw it up! Eileen, you’re amazing. The Vazquez family is yours now. You don’t need to be so humble. You’re the Vazquez family’s daughter, after all!”

Eileen sniffled, a hint of pride in her voice. “You’re right.”

Le’s eyes narrowed as she thought of something. “Has Bryan mistreated you since he’s so capable?”

Le seemed worried. Eileen had been using Bryan’s influence to handle Conroy and Giannately. What if Bryan was unhappy with this and started making things difficult for Eileen?

“I wouldn’t dare,” Bryan chuckled, walking into the room. “Eileen’s not just a business whiz; she also has a PhD in keeping me in line.”

He patted his jacket pocket. “Every card in my pocket is her supplementary card.”

Seeing that Le’s gaze was gradually turning disapproving, Eileen almost wanted to curse Bryan out. The nerve of this guy! He had practically begged her to get him supplementary cards instead of using his own. And when he maxed them out identally, she was the one who had to go to the bank to fix it.

This was nothing but trouble for her!

“Well… that’s not entirely it. It’s just that Eileen is in charge,” Le still sided with Eileen.

    Bryan nodded, his expression serious.

“Exactly. I’d never dream of mistreating her. It’s actually the other way around.”

Le’s jaw dropped. “Has Eileen mistreated you? My sweet Eileen? Don’t be ridiculous! She’s not that kind of person.”

“It’s true,” Bryan lied without hesitation. “She’s sometimes very cruel to me, making me kneel for half the night.”

Eileen couldn’t believe Bryan was saying this. She pped a hand over his mouth and shoved him. “Grandma, can you watch Gabri for a while? I just remembered something I need to do.”

Le, eyes wide, watched as Eileen dragged Bryan out of the room. He was taller than her, but he let her drag him like a puppy on a leash.

Back in their room, Eileen pushed Bryan onto the bed. “What the hell was that? You can’t just lie to my grandmother!”

“Hey, I wasn’t lying,” Bryan sprawled on the bed, his shirt slightly lifted, revealing part of his abs. “I’m practically on my knees every day, aren’t I?”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Eileen scoffed.

“You think kneeling every day is a punishment? Rx, I’m never going to make you do it again!”

Bryan’s smile vanished. He tried to exin, “That’s not what I meant…”
