Chapter 850

    ?Chapter 850:

Jessica recoiled, her forehead throbbing. Unnoticed by her, Eileen had yanked a few strands of her hair.

Eileen had used all her strength to do that.

Jessica clutched her head, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. She held them back, not wanting to lose herposure in public.

“Mr. Finch, it seems there has been a misunderstanding. How could I possibly flick her with my injured hand?” Eileen said, secretly holding the few strands of Jessica’s hair in her hand.

Turning to Bryan, she added, “Mr. Dawson, my hand has almost recovered. Shall we return to the VQ Group tomorrow?”

Bryan gave a firm nod in agreement.

“Alright, we’ll head back tomorrow. Mr. Finch, Miss Marshall, you’re free to go now. And as for your promise, Mr. Finch, I expect not to see Miss Marshall at the VQ Group again.”

Since Bryan had remained firm on the matter, Conroy had no hope of keeping Jessica at thepany. Left with no choice, Conroy replied with a forced smile, “Of course, Mr. Dawson. Don’t worry…”

As the door swung shut behind Conroy and a sullen Jessica, Eileen deftly plucked two strands of her own hair, contrasting them with Jessica’s. The differences were stark: her hair was dark and sleek, while Jessica’s was lighter with a chestnut hue.

Approaching Bryan, she handed over the strands of hair.

“Let’s invest in a quick paternity test. I intend to use the results to sever Conroy’s ties with the family. That way, my mother can rest in the Vazquez family’s ancestral tomb.”

“The matter will be resolved in three to five days. After that, we can arrange things for your grandmother and return to Onnd,” Bryan replied, epting the strands of hair. Gently setting Gabri down, he added, “Careful, don’t handle her; you might hurt your hand.”

“Why the rush to return to Onnd?” After a pause, Eileen continued, “If my grandmother decides against returning with me, I might have to extend my stay in Alverton.”

Bryan’s brows knitted tightly. “I’ll send the hair for testing first.”

He then left the room, his expression etched with a hint of unusual concern.

A paternity test could yield results within hours, leaving Eileen to spend the afternoon anxiously watching the clock.

At three o’clock in the afternoon, the results were ready, and Eileen apanied Bryan to retrieve them.

The nurse handed over the envelope, and Eileen ripped it open immediately. “Do you think Conroy will ept these results when I show them to him, or should I make extra copies in case he tries to destroy them?”

After a pause, she added, “If he refuses to ept them, we’ll need to take legal action. My greatest worry is how my grandmother will cope with the revtion about Jessica’s identity. She—”

Eileen was stunned as she read the results, which clearly stated “[NO blood rtion].” The revtion shattered her usual calm. She and Jessica were not rted by blood!

Bryan’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. “Has Conroy told you that Jessica is his and your aunt’s child?”

“I figured it out myself, and they never refuted it,” Eileen murmured, biting her lip.
