Chapter 825

    ?Chapter 825:

The back door of the luxury car swung open, and Bryan took Gabri from Raymond, gesturing for him to take the wheel.

He then secured Gabri in her safety seat on the right and turned to Eileen, who was twirling a strand of her hair.

Before he could speak, Eileen said, “Everett is so unattractive and very arrogant. Rhett ims he has a business mind, but I saw no evidence of it.”

“You’ve observed quite a bit,” Bryan responded nonchntly, hinting that she had paid enough attention to Everett to assess his business skills.

As the car’s partition sealed off the space in the back seat, Raymond started the car.

Eileen’s voice, now shielded within the confines of the back seat, carried a tone of frank observation. “It’s clear from Everett’sck of savvy that he can’t hold a candle to you in business. He wouldn’t stand a chance against even the slightest bit of your expertise.”

Bryan, amused by her attempt at ttery, let out a dismissive chuckle. “Really? Anything else of note?”

“We barely exchanged words. The conversation fell t quickly,” Eileen replied. She reflected for a moment before continuing. “Conroy’s eagerness to arrange this meeting just shows his desperation to marry me off. I doubt he’ll back down easily.”

Tonight’s experience had been embarrassing for Eileen, having to entertain the idea of another suitor in her husband’s presence. Though internally she might have found an odd thrill in the situation, she didn’t dare show it.

Nevertheless, Bryan’s intervention today likely meant Conroy would hold back on any direct approaches for the time being. Still, Eileen knew Conroy was more astute than she gave him credit for.

On the other end, Rhett, picking up on the tension, asked,

“Mr. Finch, what exactly is the nature of Mr. Dawson’s rtionship with your daughter? Does he have any romantic interest in her?”

Recalling Bryan’s sharp remark about Everett and his action of escorting Eileen out swiftly, Rhett found the situation suspicious. It was challenging for him to dismiss the possibility of a deeper connection between Bryan and Eileen.

    Conroy quickly replied,

“Well… Rhett, you’re overthinking things. It’s probably because Mr. Dawson and my daughter both came from Onnd that they’ve seemed to click so quickly. But let me be clear, I appreciate your son’s merits. I think he is a good match for my daughter. I’ll speak with my daughter about this.”

Though he harbored doubts in his heart, he didn’t say it. After all, hecked full insight into Bryan and Eileen’s rtionship and was wary of offending Rhett.

After a few polite exchanges, Conroy and Rhett parted ways.

Conroy returned home and couldn’t sleep all night.

The next morning, he summoned Eileen to his office. He fixed a serious gaze on her. “Eileen, I need the truth. What exactly is your rtionship with Mr. Dawson?”

“He’s my boss,” Eileen responded. “And I’m a live-in nanny for his daughter.”

Conroy’s expression hardened. “It’s not that simple!” he said, mming his hand on the desk.
