Chapter 795

    ?Chapter 795:

The money she was earning had nothing to do with VQ Group.

“How about you exin what’s happening with VQ Group? How long will itst? Are we going to end up bankrupt like those people on TV, where even the house gets taken by the court? Will Grandma be left without a home?” Eileen deliberately said the most dramatic things to make Conroy let his guard down.

Though Conroy was momentarily speechless, a sense of relief washed over him. He believed Eileen didn’t fully grasp the situation and knew nothing about business.

“It’s not as dire as you make it sound. You don’t really understand business. Since you’ve decided to work for Mr. Dawson, focus on that for now. We can discuss this furtherter. I’m quite busy at the moment,” he said.

With that, Conroy opened the balcony door and stepped outside. He had only taken a few steps when he paused and turned to look at Eileen.

Eileen’s smile looked eerily unsettling through the clear ss window.

Her eyes reminded him so much of her mother’s!

It seemed as though she could see right through him, uncovering all his secrets.

“Conroy!” Jessica’s voice, filled with displeasure, snapped Conroy back to reality. He turned to see Jessica quickly holding his arm. “I’ve been looking for you everywhere. Where have you been?”

Distracted by Eileen’s prating gaze, Conroy pushed Jessica’s arm away and said, “There are too many people here. Don’t make a scene. Go check with the staff at the door and find out who allowed Eileen inside!”

“Eileen?” Jessica scoffed. “She’s a person, not a prisoner. Who could stop her from entering with Mr. Dawson?”

“I specifically instructed the staff not to let any minors in, thinking it would prevent Eileen from attending the banquet since she would need to look after Mr. Dawson’s child. How did she manage to get in?” Conroy felt that Eileen was uncovering too much about him.

The truth made Conroy uneasy. At this, Jessica’s heart skipped a beat. She was the one who had let Eileen in. She had never imagined that Conroy had done it intentionally.

“Why would you block Eileen’s entry, risking upsetting Mr. Dawson?” Jessica asked.

Conroy ced his hand on Jessica’s shoulder and said softly, “I didn’t inform you before, but Eileen is my daughter. Currently, she’s a part of the Vazquez family’s real circumstances.”

Noticing the anxious expression on his face, Jessica realized the truth hade out. However, she was unconcerned. She inhaled deeply and eximed, “She is your daughter? Why didn’t you tell me this sooner?”

Had she known this earlier, she would have made things more difficult for Eileen.

“It’s not toote for you to know now. Just be careful with what you say around her from now on.” After saying this, Conroy returned to his tasks.

The banquet was about to end, and Eileen and Bryan decided to leave.

On the way home, Gabri dozed off in Eileen’s arms, her hair neatly braided, making her look adorable. Eileen, feeling quite tired, leaned against Bryan’s shoulder and sighed.

“Finally torn through that veil,” she said softly. “I think Conroy is about to make his next move.”
