?Chapter 773:
“Ms. Marshall—” Eileen began.
“Enough with the excuses. Either you clean up now or resign. And just so you know, the cleaningdy won’t be back for a month, so you’ll be responsible for this task every morning.” With that, Jessica turned on her heel and walked away.
The moment Jessica was out of sight, Lenny approached Eileen and murmured, “You’ve snatched Miss Marshall’s task. Now she’s targeting you.”
Eileen nodded, understanding dawning on her. “Is this how tant workce bullying can get?”
“It’s not always this direct, but here, no one dares challenge Miss Marshall. You either put up with it or resign. Comining to the higher-ups won’t make a difference,” Lenny exined, ncing at the broom and mop. “I can lend a hand if you need it.”
Her offer was genuinely kind. With Jessica’s hostility, Eileen would likely facepany-wide istion, and helping her might make Lenny a target as well.
“There’s no need for you to assist me with this. Could you do me another favor instead?” Eileen murmured quietly into Lenny’s ear. Lenny stared at her in disbelief, her eyes widening.
“What are you talking about? You’ll have to cover the cost yourself that way.”
“Oh, don’t worry; it won’t be too expensive,” Eileen reassured her. “If I take on the cleaning during my lunch break, it will count as overtime, so Jessica will end up paying me double my sry.”
However, Lenny was skeptical about the possibility of receiving double pay. “Eileen, you’re being too naive about this. Miss Marshall will—”

Eileen gently patted her on the shoulder, interrupting, “Don’t worry about it. I’ve got this under control.” Recognizing Eileen’s determination, Lenny promptly dialed the number for the housekeeping service.
When the afternoon work period began, Jessica made her rounds through the administrative department, only to find it impably clean. Her face contorted with fury.
“I don’t believe you’ll be able to maintain this for an entire month, Eileen!”
“Miss Marshall,” Savannah said, emerging from the office. She shot a quick nce at Lenny before guiding Jessica to the side to murmur something privately.
Seething with anger, Jessica stormed to the top floor. Without hesitation, she flung open Bryan’s office door. It banged against the stopper with a jarring noise, jolting Gabri out of her sleep.
Gabri lifted her arm and began to cry uncontrobly. Herrge eyes, still rimmed with the red of disturbed sleep, quickly filled with tears. They soon began cascading down her cheeks.
Eileen, equally startled, quickly held Gabri in her arms and began soothing her with gentle pats.
Jessica barreled into the room and positioned herself directly in front of Eileen, disregarding everything else. “Eileen, how dare you bring in a cleaner?”
“Miss Marshall, could you at least try to speak civilly? You’re scaring the child!” Eileen rose to her feet, maintaining a cautious distance from Jessica while holding Gabri protectively.
But seeing that only Eileen and Gabri were in the office, Jessica approached Eileen, her voice rising with anger. “Stop pretending to care for the child! Answer my question!”
