?Chapter 753:
Though Bryan had rejected her offer, he had done so subtly, citing that it was impractical given Jessica’s role as thepany’s director. The next morning, Eileen, Lenny, and about a dozen other women were assembled in the meeting room of the VQ Group, awaiting Bryan’s decision.
Jessica walked in alongside Bryan. She surveyed the gathering of women, who naturally cleared a path for her to take the first seat.
“Bryan, please,” Jessica said with a smile as she addressed him. After he seated himself, she also sat down.
Hearing Jessica address Bryan with such a sweet voice, Eileen lowered her gaze and tugged at her sleeves to cover the goosebumps forming on her arms.
“Now, I’ll give you all an opportunity. If you wish to leave, do so now,” Jessica dered, scanning the room. Her intention was clear.
A brief silence followed, and then, someone stood up and exited. After a moment of contemtion, Lenny leaned toward Eileen and whispered, “Let’s leave. shing with this woman will do no favors.”
“You should go,” Eileen replied, believing it was unnecessary for Lenny topete for the job and risk offending Jessica, especially since Lenny was just here to avoid working. Unaware of Eileen’s thoughts, Lenny left.
Initially, there had been over ten candidates, but after a while, only about seven remained. Jessica mentally noted the remaining applicants.
“Let’s start,” Bryan dered.
Jessica was eager to make her case. “Let me start. I studied overseas, and—”

“Wait,” Bryan interjected. “Introducing yourself isn’t crucial here. I’m looking for someone to care for my daughter, not a teacher. Gabri will make the choice.”
With that, he lifted Gabri onto the table and dered, “She approaches first will secure the position.”
Jessica paused, taken aback, then seemed to have an idea. She smiled and said, “Alright, let her decide on her own.” She then pulled several lollipops from her bag, ced them on the table, and enticingly waved them at Gabri.
Jessica was nearest to Gabri, offering such appealing bait. Seeing this, the other candidates’ faces fell with disappointment, realizing they probably wouldn’t win.
Nobody dared to voice their thoughts. They merely exchanged nces before lowering their heads.
When Gabri noticed the colorful lollipop in Jessica’s hand, her attention was immediately drawn to it. She sat still, fixated on the lollipop that Jessica kept waving, and reached out to grab it.
“Ahem…” Eileen covered her mouth and coughed softly.
Hearing the familiar sound, Gabri turned her head. At the far end of the table sat Eileen, upright with her hands on the table, smiling warmly at Gabri.
“Ma!” Gabri babbled, pushing herself up with her hands and toddling barefoot straight toward Eileen. Eileen reached out her arms and quickly scooped Gabri up when she approached.
Gabri nestled her head against Eileen and nted two kisses on her face.
