?Chapter 725:
Truthfully, Eileen wasn’t keen on these foods, but she couldn’t ignore the expectation in Le’s eyes. She sampled two pieces and nodded in approval. “Yes, this is delicious,” she said.
“Your mother was good at making that dish,” Le said. “This time, your aunt cooked it, but it doesn’t quite match up to your mom’s.”
Le then gestured toward another area. Conroy went to fetch a different dish Le had pointed at for Eileen.
The table wasden with a variety of dishes. After tasting each one, Eileen was so stuffed that she had to put her fork down. “Grandma, I’m full,” she said.
Upon hearing this, Le promptly replied, “Then let’s stop here. You can try more tomorrow. Now, take me back to my room.” Eileen rose to her feet and wheeled Le toward her bedroom. Gianna exchanged a few words with Kinsey before hurrying to catch up with them.
“Have a chat with your grandma,” Gianna suggested to Eileen. “You’ve had a long day, so stay upte talking. There’s always tomorrow.”
Once inside Le’s bedroom, Eileen sat down on the sofa. Gianna fetched some warm water to wash Le’s face and feet.
Le appeared much livelier than she had earlier in the day. As Gianna assisted her, Le chatted with Eileen, asking about her past and inquiring whether her stepmother had mistreated her.
Eileen told Le that after moving in with Ruby, she had been raised by her and had even graduated from a prestigious university. She omitted mentioning Ruby’s illness and her subsequent meeting with Bryan.
“That’s a great university,” Gianna said, her eyes sparkling. “Graduating from such a renowned university, you’ll probably earn enough to support your grandmother one day.”
“That would be wonderful,” Le said, beaming with pride. “Your stepmother seems like a kind soul. Make sure to give her some money to repay herter.”

“Don’t worry; she’s living with me now and will continue to do so,” Eileen replied with a smile.
When Le heard this, her smile dimmed slightly.
Gianna paused for a moment, then suddenly stood up, as if a thought had struck her. “Eileen, it’s time for bed now. Your grandmother’s getting ready to sleep. You can return to your room now.”
Feeling she might have misspoken, Eileen sensed that Le might think her stay here was only temporary. However, Gianna kept signaling for her to leave, leaving no room for Eileen to rify things with Le. She had no choice but to go.
Back in her room, Eileen washed up andy in bed, restless and awake. Thoughts of clearing up the misunderstanding with Le gued her. As a result, she spent a sleepless night tossing and turning. Just as she finally drifted off in the early morning, a knock at the door jolted her awake.
“There are some people here. They’re asking for you,” Tessa said.
Groggily rubbing her eyes, Eileen slipped on her down jacket and stepped out of her room. From a distance, she spotted Bryan holding Gabri. They both beamed at her.
