Chapter 719

    ?Chapter 719:

Tragically, her mother had been consumed by grief after her disappearance and had sumbed to depression. Gianna continued, “Now, our Vazquez family relies on your father and my son, your cousin, to provide for us.”

Eileen nodded. She had heard what she had feared the most. Although she had never met her biological parents, the news that her mother had endured great hardships and fallen into depression while searching for her unsettled her deeply.

“Eileen, don’t be too sad,” Gianna said gently, noticing Eileen’s distress. “Your grandmother is still with us at home. If you’re sad, you’ll upset her. Her health is already fragile.”

Eileen nodded again. Just as she was about to respond, Gianna took a call. After listening briefly, she blinked. Once she ended the call, she turned to Eileen.

“It turns out we’re passing the hospital on our way. I’ll pick up some medication for your grandmother. Why don’t you get a check-up while we’re there?”

In the confined space, Gianna’s attempt at a cheerful demeanor suddenly made Eileen feel more somber.

“There’s no need for a physical check-up. We should just do a paternity test directly,” Eileen said.

Gianna offered an awkward smile. “Last time, unfortunately, someone impersonated you. I hope you understand this. But I’m confident that you belong to our Vazquez family.”

As she spoke, she instructed the driver to head to the nearby hospital.

Eileen remained silent, taking the opportunity to respond to the message from Bryan. He exined that Gabri was feeling exhausted, making it difficult for him to bring her along quickly, so he had opted to check into a hotel first. He cautioned her to stay alert and, if any trouble arose, to immediately call him and share her location. Despite the car’s heater being on, Eileen still felt cold.

About ten minutester, they arrived at the hospital’s entrance. Stepping out of the car, Eileen followed Gianna into the hospital.

“Conroy!” Gianna hastened towards the man sitting at the blood sample window.

He appeared to be in his fifties, with a somewhat cold expression. His gaze was detached.

Seeing him, Eileen approached and said, “Mr. Finch.”

Conroy frowned and nodded. He made noment on her formal address and requested the nurse to expedite the blood collection process.

Once Eileen’s and Conroy’s blood was drawn, Conroy held a cotton swab to his arm and began speaking to Eileen while Gianna conversed with the nurse.

“You bear a strong resemnce to your mother. I could confirm your identity even without the paternity test,” he said.

Eileen gently dabbed the injection spot with a cotton swab and smiled at Conroy. “It’s best to be certain.”

Upon hearing this, Conroy adjusted his sses and said, “I had nned to wait for the paternity test results before you met your grandmother, but seeing you now, I think we should let you go to her right away.”
