    Gabri squealed with delight and reached out her little arms towards Eileen.


    Eileen hurried over, but just as she reached out to take Gabri from Ruby’s arms, the little girl suddenly pushed her away.


    A wide grin spread across Gabri’s face, her eyes lighting up when she turned her gaze to Bryan. Her chubby little hand pointed directly at him.


    “Your daddy is back,” Eileen said, pulling Bryan over.


    Bryan gave Ruby a quick hello, but before he could say another word, Gabri hadunched herself into his arms.


    He held her close, feeling his heart melt at the warmth of her presence. His eyes softened as he looked down at her.


    “Daddy!” Gabri chirped, tilting her head to nt a kiss on Bryan’s cheek.


    The contrast between Gabri’s excitement now and her reluctance at the wedding hit Bryan hard. He felt a wave of warmth. Pressing his face against Gabri’s, he whispered low and earnestly, “Daddy’s back, sweetheart. And I’m not going anywhere this time.”


    Ruby nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks. “That’s great. Have you two eaten anything?”


    Eileen shook her head. “Not yet. Don’t worry, the doctor ising to check if Bryan can eat anything right now.”


    After all, Bryan hadn’t eaten in a while and had been relying on nutrition supplements. He needed to be examined by a doctor first.


    Eileen had messaged Josue on the way, asking him to send over a doctor.


    Soon, the doctor arrived and performed a basic check-up on Bryan. “There doesn’t seem to be any issues, but I rmend Mr. Dawson go to the hospital tomorrow for a more thorough examination. Some tests require specialized equipment.”

    Eileen quickly arranged for the check-up to be scheduled for the next day.


    “Wait,” Bryan said, pulling on his shirt and grabbing Eileen’s hand. He rolled up her sleeve and said to the doctor, “Check on her too.”


    The sight of the bruises on Eileen made Bryan’s heart drop.


    But her injury wasn’t severe. The doctor gave Eileen some ointment to help with healing before leaving.


    While Eileen and Bryan were being checked by the doctor, Ruby had prepared some soup, as the doctor had advised. Eileen finished it soon after the doctor left.


    Ruby, holding Gabri, turned to Bryan and Eileen. “You’re both in bad shape. I’ll take care of Gabri tonight.”


    In the soft glow of the room, Eileen slipped into her nightdress after her shower, applying ointment to the bruises Jonathan had left on her wrist. The steady sound of water running in the bathroom brought her a strange mix of peace and tension.


    When the water stopped, the bathroom door opened momentster. Eileen nced up as Bryan emerged. His bare chest glistened with droplets of water, which trailed down his sculpted abs before disappearing into the towel at his waist. His body was undeniably attractive.
